Fair use rationale for Image:Alisol-front.jpg
[edit]Image:Alisol-front.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

~~Also you can slow down the game by pressing pause and i think left or right. Don't remember. It's one of the only games I know that has the option to change the gameplay's speed. ~~ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.142.246.93 (talk) 03:20, 11 October 2010 (UTC)

Initial comments
[edit]- "Critics have praised the game's for its graphics" - game
- "There are two difficulties in the game, "Supereasy" and "Superhard"" - the names of "supereasy" and "superhard" and mentioned in the source given
- " double-jump, hover in the air" - double jump can be linked
- "but if its depleted" - if it is
- The paragraphs in the Synopsis should be merged into two larger ones, in order to improve prose flow
- "who from the start wanted to make nearly the entire game himself" - sounds choppy. Remove "nearly" or replace it with "almost"
- "The Mega Drive was known for being better suited for those types of games than its competition" - sounds like original research. I would unlink "its competition", or replace it with the SNES if it's mentioned in the source
This is actually mentioned in the source. It doesn't specify competition, and the PC Engine was quite successful in Japan, especially with action games, so that could be implied along with the SNES.Nevermind, this is an annotation in the translation of the original interview. Removed. There is a translation of the source here. TarkusAB 21:52, 28 January 2016 (UTC)- Thanks, this should be fine. I was being a bit overcautious... JAGUAR 14:31, 29 January 2016 (UTC)
- How about merging the first paragraph of the release section into the development section and rename that to "Development and release" section? And rename the "Release" section to "Reception", per WP:VG/GL
- Split the references into two columns
- No dead links
This could be GA worthy. I'll leave this on hold for seven days JAGUAR 20:33, 28 January 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks, this is my first GA nomination for a video game, and I hope to do many more! This game is a classic for sure. See my notes above. TarkusAB 21:52, 28 January 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks for addressing them, I've checked through the article again and this looks good to go. I enjoyed this game a lot when I was a kid, and I finished it a few times. Writing articles on video games are good once you have all of the sources, but sometimes it's a pain to find them. I hope you do many more too, this one looks great! Sega Saturn magazine:
[edit]The march 1995 issue of the Japanese SS mag covers the game interestingly. It has an overview of the game on pages 120-122. It might not sound like much, but those three pages are packed with info, and a half a page is entirely on the plot. Right now much of the plot section is sourced to the game itself. It then has an overview of the mechanics, gameplay, weapons, and enemies. Then on page 128 it has a review of the game. All of this is in Japanese of course. If anyone can read Japanese or can have this translated, it'd be a useful source. Harizotoh9 (talk) 07:35, 8 May 2019 (UTC)
- @Harizotoh9: Nice find. The plot and gameplay stuff probably isn't really needed for Wikipedia. Plot details generally don't need sources, and gameplay details like that are too gameguidey. The reviews provide a nice perspective, but I don't have the time to translate them now. This is the first good article I wrote, so maybe I'll come back to it and fix it up some day.
