Page in need of Copyediting

I was recently alerted to this page, and it is clear that is has some serious issues. I would like to note that I am very unfamiliar with badminton and Japanese badminton culture. It appears that recently, User:Fdery added a significant amount of content to the page detailing specific competitions and sporting events. While I don't think this anywhere near this much detail is necessary for the page, I don't feel right about cutting it en masse. Much of the article can be easily reviewed and edited for flow, as much of the language was likely written by individuals who are not native speakers of English. Thanks. I'm not sure how I feel about someone undoing sock changes in my user talk page other than prior arrangement. Failing that, is there a way I can opt out from future third-party sock rollbacks on my user talk page, or is it up to me to undo any I don't agree with after the fact? All you could really do is put up a message you prefer others not to revert socks/vandalism on your user talk page, but there's no guarantee they'll see it when performing mass rollbacks like this sock requires. -- ferret (talk) 00:16, 31 December 2021 (UTC)

Same user here too. Mine was just a spelling request so I did it anyway, but now I see they have the same exact pattern as the resident-sock. For the future, if an editor is clearly a sock, but has an apparent legitimate request, would the best thing to do be to discuss first or just make the edit with a very clear summary? See WP:PROXYING. The basic rule is, if the edit is something you would make on your own if you were editing the article, it's probably fine, but you shouldn't do the edit the sock asks without looking at it independently. Does it meet policy, undue weight, verification, etc, etc, etc. If the sock points out an obvious typo, feel free to fix it. I was just asked for help for the second time. I guess its good that they realize it needs a copyedit, but isn't there a project somewhere that could be pointed at this article? Some passages overly detailed

Many of the passages have overly detailed descriptions of AY's progress through tournaments etc. Please keep in mind that the article is about AY, not the tournaments. Of course they should be mentioned, but only in passing.
Please also note that if you copy-paste from a website then it will often import additional spaces between punctuation which need to be removed. The text should also be rephrased to avoid copyvio. Wayne 07:00, 30 November 2021 (UTC)

User:Mühazinwiki left so much homework for the other editors. There were much mistakes in WP:MOS, WP:BLP, and WP:CS. I gave advice yesterday but User:Mühazinwiki repeating the same mistakes today. @Wayne aus: Text may not be copy-pasted from a website unless the source is compatible with the CC BY-SA copyright. WP:PARAPHRASING is not acceptable unless it is attributed (not just sourced, it also has to be clearly attributed as a paraphrase, as in "Wayne said that many passages are too detailed" would be OK from a non-CC-BY-SA-ed source, but not "Many passages of AY's progress are too detailed<ref>..</ref>."). The information content has to be processed through a human brain and summarised. See WP:COPYRIGHT and WP:PARAPHRASING for more details. Chill out with the copy edit help there. Instead of telling other users to help, why not WP:DOITYOURSELF? If the page is protected, why not just create an account? It’s easy and simple.
