Shouldn't Deobandi jihadism be mentioned in this article, if only briefly? 173.88.246.138 (talk) 03:29, 3 August 2023 (UTC)
Page move
[edit]On 28 August 2023, banned sockpuppet Syrikist moved this article from "Afghan mujahideen" to "Afghan mujahidin". I would argue in favor of restoring the former name on procedural grounds, because the move was not discussed, and Syrikist should not have been able to edit the article in the first place. However, because there have been numerous intervening edits since the move nearly three months ago, I am raising the merits of this move for discussion here. What do page watchers think?TheTimesAreAChanging (talk) 01:36, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
- You could request a move back to the original name. Charles Essie (talk) 02:25, 28 November 2023 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: Moved to Afghan mujahideen. Discussion indicates the non-cap version to be moved to. – robertsky (talk) 12:27, 4 April 2024 (UTC)
Afghan mujahidin → Afghan Mujahideen – Like user @TheTimesAreAChanging said, a move to "Afghan mujahidin" was not discussed, and "Afghan mujahideen" is probably WP:COMMONNAME. Hallygosh (talk) 23:41, 27 March 2024 (UTC)
- Support on procedural grounds, because the prior move was not discussed, and banned sockpuppet Syrikist should not have been able to move the article in the first place.TheTimesAreAChanging (talk) 11:43, 30 March 2024 (UTC)
- Support Afghan mujahideen I'm raising this because the proposer appears to be suggesting that the first letter in 'mujahideen' be written in upper-case. As both above users have pointed out the move to "Afghan mujahidin" was done by a sock without discussion, in which the previous long-standing title was "Afghan mujahideen" (with mujahideen not being capitalized.) As thus, I think the exact old title should be restored unless a strong case can be made for the capitalization. Fanatizka (talk) 14:40, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- Support per WP:COMMONNAME. Neutral on capitalisation. -- Necrothesp (talk) 15:05, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
- Support per nom and for consistency's sake with other articles such as Bosnian mujahideen, Mujahideen in Chechnya, and Kurdish mujahideen. ZionniThePeruser (talk) 06:34, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
