Nappina colors
[edit]Hello,
I think there may be an error on this page and would like to discuss some of the sources used with regards to the Nappina colors of the various battalion's. In Giacomo Fatuzzo's memoirs, Death of the Julia Division he recounts and incident with an Alpino of the Tolmezzo battalion and specifically states the "White Tassel" on the Tolmezzo's cappello.
"Suddenly, we hear shouting: "Tolmezzo! Tolmezzo!" What is It? Some men have seen an Alpino with the white tassel of the Tolmezzo Battalion appear from above, from the thick woods on the slopes of Mount Smolikas, heading towards the Vjose River. "Call him!" I order. "Hey, Tolmezzo!" (p.61, Fatuzzo 2014)
