Tupac
[edit]How is Tupac and biggie not on this list? 2601:300:4200:58A0:F9C6:47BE:27DD:9F8A (talk) 20:04, 1 September 2024 (UTC)
- Because Tupac died aged 25, and Biggie aged 24. -- AxG / ✉ 21:02, 1 September 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah, they don't get rounded up to the #27. Same goes for Heath Ledger, I always thought he was and a lot of people lump him in with them. But he just turned 28 nearly a year prior to his death. --Cinemaniac86TalkStalk 19:08, 26 September 2024 (UTC)
Yung Trappa
[edit]FlightTime, Why did you cancel the dispatch? In the news, they added him to the 27 club. Нейроманьяк (talk) 21:57, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Нейроманьяк: Entries there must have their own article to be notable. - FlightTime (open channel) 22:00, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
- But the list contains many hyperlinks to articles in other languages, or even a couple of people without articles. Нейроманьяк (talk) 22:15, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
- Arlester "Dyke" Christian, Roger Lee Durham, Wallace "Wally" Yohn, Zenon De Fleur, Dimitar Voev - don’t have an article anywhere at all, but they are on the list. Yung Trappy has an article in Russian Wikipedia Нейроманьяк (talk) 22:19, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
- No, you're absolutely right. Yung Trappa warrants being on the 27 Club list. I'll interwiki link the Russian wiki article and sources I can find that name him, which include one American music magazine.
- It would be helpful, however—because I don't speak or comprehend Russian alphabet characters, lol—if you could peruse for additional sources that mention the term "27 Club", just so we can also have Russian journalism too. --Cinemaniac86TalkStalk 19:32, 26 September 2024 (UTC)

[edit]The legendary blues man also died at 27. He should be considered the first member of the “club” 152.117.114.129 (talk) 03:14, 26 September 2024 (UTC)
- The article already discusses exactly this. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 09:30, 26 September 2024 (UTC)

The link embedded in "Kim Jong-hyun" seems to lead to Jong-hyun (name), not the actual singer. Please change the link from the Jong-hyun (name) page to lead to the Wikipedia page to the actual person. 91.193.18.106 (talk) 22:06, 30 September 2024 (UTC)
Proposed merge of White lighter myth into 27 Club
[edit]Very short article, can be contained in a single section of 27 Club. HadesTTW (he/him • talk) 00:46, 5 October 2024 (UTC)
- Don't merge The White lighter myth is primarily based on the deaths of Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison and Kurt Cobain. Kolano123 (talk) 20:04, 9 October 2024 (UTC)
- MERGEGood to mention it though as they were the 4 main reasons the 27 club even rose as a conspiracy, especially Kurt Cobain.
- It adds more mystery.
- I personally see no harm. 217.32.247.85 (talk) 10:50, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
- Support the merge of a very short article into this one. There's not much to say about the white lighter thing, except as it pertains to this topic. Joyous! Noise! 17:38, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
- Merge. Anyone familiar with supernatural TV fiction knows the term "white lighter" originated with the long-running series Charmed to refer to guardian angels. The creation of this article was in 2007 just after that series. Someone probably thought it would be fun to create a second meaning, which as Snopes showed, lacks factual basis. A lot, if not all, of the articles online mentioning the myth were likely generated as a result of this Wikipedia article. No harm in including the myth in the 27 Club article. 5Q5|✉ 12:01, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
- Don't merge but mention in the 27 Club article, providing a link to the White lighter myth article; the article White lighter myth seems to be independently notable, even though it is very small. Kolano123 (talk) 16:10, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
Pavel Protiva
[edit]He is a Czech Rapper who has had a great impact on the community. Just died today. 27. Can we mourn on his death and as a reminder. Add him in the 27 club? 89.24.32.156 (talk) 23:28, 9 October 2024 (UTC)
- Not done You did not provide a reliable source that he has been described as belonging to the so-called "27 Club". Kolano123 (talk) 14:55, 10 October 2024 (UTC)

I request to include in 27 Club a very renowned and talented Bangladeshi Musician named HAPPY AKHAND who was born on October 12, 1960 and died on December 28, 1987 when he was 27 years and 77 days old. His Wikipedia information link is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Happy_Akhand CentaurPriest (talk) 10:14, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
- Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. Bowler the Carmine | talk 17:15, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Bowler the Carmine: Here's one. — Mudwater (Talk) 18:22, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
- Not quite good enough. That article starts with 27 Club discussion, then it ends with a generalized list of people who died at 27, without talking about the notional club. Akhand is listed with zero level on the "fame meter". I don't think Akhand can be listed with this source. Binksternet (talk) 19:10, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Bowler the Carmine: Here's one. — Mudwater (Talk) 18:22, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Binksternet: Admittedly Mr. Akhand is listed in a section that says "Famous Artists Who Died at 27". But that same section lists Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, et al. Akhand is in the same list as them. That seems to, at a minimum, strongly suggest that he's a member. As for the Fame-O-Meter, that's not relevant to this question, in my view. — Mudwater (Talk) 19:55, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
- I don't find it compelling that the list of 27-year-old deaths also includes Club members, since the group of age-27 deaths is a larger set than 27 Clubbers. The section with Akhand is partitioned off from the actual discussion of Club 27 members. Not a source to support his inclusion. The cute little "fame meter" shows that Akhand is not famous enough in any case. Binksternet (talk) 21:41, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
- Happy Akhand is in fact famous enough to be included, because he has his own Wikipedia article. So it's a matter of finding one or more sources that, in the opinion of editors commenting here, sufficiently establish that he's a member of the 27 Club. — Mudwater (Talk) 21:55, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
Addition to In Popular Culture: Music Tab
[edit]In Mac Miller's song Brand Name from his album "GO:OD AM" he mentions the 27 Club in the line, "To everyone who sell me drugs, don't mix it with that bullshit, I'm hopin' not to join the twenty seven club." I would suggest adding this to the In Popular Culture tab. Brycevrska (talk) 21:38, 19 November 2024 (UTC)
