Changes

[edit]

@XYZ 250706 hello user, you have recently removed Jana Sena from NDA alliance but it is officially a member of NDA. The source for individuality is not required for every election since it is already a member of the said alliance and this is how election articles work. Thus I am adding it to the NDA column, you can remove it only if you can provide a source that it is not a member of NDA. 456legend(talk) 15:04, 9 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Can you give citation where it is mentioned that Jana Sena has announced to contest with BJP in Telangana? JSP is part of NDA in Andhra Pradesh, no confirmation of alliance in Telangana. RJD is part of UPA but it contest in Kerala with LDF. SUCI(C) is part of LDF (national left front) but it contested separately in 2021 WB election. XYZ 250706 (talk) 15:57, 9 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@456legend JSP has contested an election in Telangana previously. Jana Sena to Contest Alone - Primepost XYZ 250706 (talk) 16:00, 9 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@XYZ 250706 RJD is not in UPA, Mahagatbandan is the alliance formed by RJD and INC is part of that sub-allaince. Please check the facts. JSP is officially in NDA. And about what you said that JSP contested alone in Telangana was in 2018 when JSP quit from NDA earlier.456legend(talk) 16:28, 9 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@XYZ 250706 Also refer to this, Where JSP and BJP contested together in local body elections in Telangana.[1] Unless and until we have a official statement from the party that they will contest solely it is inferred to be in alliance due to the previous sources.456legend(talk) 16:28, 9 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@XYZ 250706 Also please understand that LDF is not a national left front as you are thinking. LDF is Left Democratic Front only up-to the state of Kerala. Please refer to the history of LDF for the purpose of its formation. Sub-alliances should not be confused with National alliances.456legend(talk) 16:28, 9 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding a revert

[edit]

@Dhruv edits, The diff reverted by edit which was about a promise made by the person that the scrapping of 4% reservation quota will be implemented in Telangana as well, similar to Karnataka. So I think it is related to this election too. ParanormalRat (talk) 13:51, 11 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@ParanormalRat It hasn't become a controversy yet, it is just a speech for now. There hasn't been major criticism and condemnation of this particular speech by leaders of other major Telangana parties, also not extensively reported by WP:RS as a major election issue/ controversy yet. It is likely to become a controversy later during the election campaign if it is repeated during election campaigns, and it can be added at that time along with reactions of other parties. Dhruv edits (talk) 14:15, 11 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds fine. Thanks. ParanormalRat (talk) 15:18, 11 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Check With Costituencies There are so many Missing...

[edit]

cross check with the List of constituencies of the Telangana Legislative Assembly and added Constituencies are not matching... 115.98.129.246 (talk) 13:54, 21 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Consistency in specifying leaders in the Infobox

[edit]

The infobox is using the chief functionaries for some parties and legislature party leaders for others. As the fight is led by chief functionaries of parties (for the state where identified or for the party at the India level), I suggest to use Kishan Reddy for BJP in place of Etela Rajendar, Asaduddin Owaisi for AIMIM in place of Akbaruddin Owaisi. Please comment by Nov 27 2023. Arjunaraoc (talk) 00:33, 26 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Updated as proposed, as there were no responses. Arjunaraoc (talk) 08:35, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Arjunaraoc In absence of a CM face, legislative leader of the party in that state or state president are added to infobox. Considering Akbaruddin Owaisi is legislative leader of his party in Telangana, he should be added to infobox. Moreover, neither Asaduddin Owaisi nor Kishan Reddy are contesting the election, so adding them to infobox is futile. Dhruv edits (talk) 08:40, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Dhruv edits, This infobox seems to be generic for all elections across the world. This is not consistent with the electonic and print media visuals for the current Telangana elections as well.(Example: https://telanganatoday.com/telangana-assembly-elections-2023-dates-announced-by-election-commission-of-india) The state party chief where designated for national parties is responsible for issuing the party B forms to its candidates and is also the identified leader for the elections. Hence I feel it is appropriate to use the state party chief in the infobox. Let me know if there is some past discussion or consensus for the approach of adding Legislative party leaders when the state party chief's are not contesting. Arjunaraoc (talk) 09:04, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Arjunaraoc There isn't a fixed rule for infobox leaders, it's very much case specific. Either the legislative leader or state president has been added for Indian elections consistently for many years. I don't think Etela Rajender is holding any official post in either BJP Telangana or Telangana Assembly, so I agree with you that Kishan Reddy should be added in infobox for BJP. However, Akbaruddin Owaisi is the legislative leader in Telangana and also contesting election (unlike Asaduddin Owaisi), so he should be the leader in infobox for AIMIM. There have been past discussions regarding party leader but they have been case specific for different elections. Dhruv edits (talk) 09:23, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Dhruv edits, Thanks for your reply and also for updating with Kishan Reddy in place of Etela Rajendar for BJP. As per my understanding, the purpose of the infobox is to show the chiefs of the parties who are fighting the elections. Using legislature party leaders is not appropriate. Depicting the information about constituencies of the chiefs is secondary. Arjunaraoc (talk) 23:24, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Diverse opinions on results

[edit]

@Shaan Sengupta, You removed additional opinion added by me about the results from an independent analysis in the Hindu, which highlights the reasons for BRS defeat vide this edit with the edit comment "That is not required here. This much is good. Add about Government formation". Diverse opinions always are helpful for the reader to understand the results in my view. Can you elaborate if you have any reasons that you did not articulate in edit comments? Arjunaraoc (talk) 11:14, 6 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Arjunaraoc Ofc, diverse opinions from independent analysts are always helpful. But when we see MOS:INDELECT, which is the layout for Indian election articles, it nowhere mentions analysis. Aftermath says to talk about government formation and oath ceremony. Am I missing something? ShaanSenguptaTalk 11:19, 6 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment I agree with you @Shaan Sengupta. The MOS:INDELECT does not mention any explicitly about the analysis of the election victory and defeat but the example article that is mentioned in the wiki project contains the following article: 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election that clearly has a detailed analysis of the election results based on the sources provided on the article. I come to a opinion that the content added by @Arjunaraoc should be restored but if necessary try providing more sources to support the analysis in a neutral encyclopedic manner rather than having it as a political analysis completely. Since Wikipedia is a encylopedia.
456legend (talk) 17:12, 7 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@456legend I never had a problem with that. I just want that the layout be followed. If the community thinks that something more can be added, then I shall never object it. I welcome your point to write the analysis in an encyclopaediac manner with additional sources. I shall leave it here bcoz I have nothing more to say as of now. ShaanSenguptaTalk 17:16, 7 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@456legend, and @Shaan Sengupta, Thanks for your feedback. As I see MOS:INDELECT is only two years old and there has not been any discussion on its talk page as a sign of improvement. I see a need for improving it as you can see from my earlier discussion about Consistency in specifying leaders in the Infobox. I will add the removed text to the Results section.
