Final standings
[edit]Hello,
When will there be a 'Final standings' chart for this tournament? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:16B8:F16:3B00:1018:4DB1:533D:19BB (talk) 11:35, 18 July 2018 (UTC)
- Why over and over again? Read the already existing sections. When FIFA releases official standings.--Anaxagoras13 (talk) 11:47, 18 July 2018 (UTC)
What are Final standings good for? You know which team came how far! If a team lost in the last 16, it's completely irrelevant whether it's 9th or 16th!--Anaxagoras13 (talk) 09:06, 21 July 2018 (UTC)
Can Wikipedia's users fix this on other tournament pages too? (Copa America, Afcon etc.) It's literally made up on the spot to rank the teams this way, you don't get points for knockout games and there's no purpose to tiebreaking the teams between 5th and 8th as if they get some sort of different award for this. The authorities don't do this, and you never hear managers say "I'm glad we finished 12th at the world cup by scoring more goals in the group than Sweden". The only argument put forward for having these tables is that it exists on other pages, and thus we are therefore obligated to repeat this mistake. Whatever next, adding ranking tables to FA Cup seasons so the teams eliminated in the fourth round are ordered by how many goals they scored in preceding rounds? It doesn't do the site's reputation any good to literally make your own rules for someone else's tournament — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A00:23C5:E1AB:4500:147E:C195:4EA6:7CC2 (talk) 16:07, 26 September 2019 (UTC)
- Do you have any examples? The final standings only appear on events that have had one published by FIFA. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:10, 26 September 2019 (UTC)
- I think there are still many tournament articles with self-made final standings (Copa America, CONCACAF Gold Cup)--Anaxagoras13 (talk) 17:11, 26 September 2019 (UTC)
- I made some searches without finding any such examples. PrimeHunter (talk) 20:41, 26 September 2019 (UTC)

There's not oficial final standing yet for this tournament? Alfredmaldo (talk) 19:32, 25 October 2019 (UTC)
- I haven't found any final standings published by FIFA. I guess they decided to stop making them. Their "Final standings" in [1] for the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup only lists the top-4 which are obvious from the final and third place match. PrimeHunter (talk) 20:40, 25 October 2019 (UTC)
