Do not refer to expected winds from Fiji marine weather bulletin
[edit]This bulletin describes expected gale-force winds (at least 35), so they are not currently gale-force. Moreover, area of gales means the expected gale-force area, so it does not mean the system has reached gale-force. Wikipedia should follow the officially specific winds from Fiji. -- Meow 06:25, 24 December 2014 (UTC)
Anyone found 07F?
[edit]Guys, just wondering why we haven't found 07F, especially anonymous users, users and admins. I have not found a warning on any agency about it. Although I have found a clue: @Keith Edkins: updated the season track map and there is an unknown track. I don't know if it is 07F or not. Does anyone know and want to contribute? Typhoon2013 (talk) 03:06, 28 January 2015 (UTC)
- Sorry, the additional tack on the seasonal map was a fiddle whose purpose I had forgotten and incorrectly left on the uploaded version. (There seems to be a problem with the track generator not drawing any tracks when all the storms are east of the date line, so I added a short dummy track to the west - but forgot to edit it out at the end.) I have removed it. I rechecked all the Nadi bulletins from the relevant period and cannot find any mention of an 07F.--Keith Edkins ( Talk ) 09:17, 28 January 2015 (UTC)
- While it is annoying that we are missing a system, I wouldn't worry to much about it Typhoon2013 since it has happened in the past. As a side Keith do you have any TDS or TWOs for the 24th - thats the only day i can not find any for.Jason Rees (talk) 16:16, 28 January 2015 (UTC)
- @Jason Rees: Just in case we find any evidence on this system, check this website: https://earthdata.nasa.gov/labs/worldview . I found a circulation just near Niko dissipated from the 24th until the 27th. If unspotted, it's just about northeast of NZ or in the bottom-left side of the page. - All I got was a couple of Marine Weather Bulletins (FQPS01): 2015-01-24, 0600z // 1800z --Keith Edkins ( Talk ) 13:22, 5 February 2015 (UTC)

Tropical Cyclone 24P
[edit]I have found a mysterious storm numbered '24P' on NRL's tropical cyclone data page. I investigated and found that 24P was actually 23P as an invest, just that they probably numbered it wrongly. I checked the NRL archive data page for the track file and found a line with designation 23P but spelt 'TWENTYFOUR' instead. On weather forum Storm2k.org someone posted a JTWC archived advisory on the storm, but that particular advisory was not found on NRL's index of JTWC advisories. I am wondering whether this is a mere error or it was a separate storm altogether.Damien4794 (talk) 08:42, 20 April 2015 (UTC)
- I have conferred with various users of Facebook including a moderator on the Storm 2k forum on this and we all think its just an error.Jason Rees (talk) 15:29, 20 April 2015 (UTC)
Ola
[edit]The section says the system moved to the east-northeast, however that is not clear, considering the track map. If so, this movement must have been very short. All over all the system was heading nearly due south most of its existence. Could this be verified, please? Furthermore, it is not clear when weaking (and presumedly et. transition) began. --Matthiasb (talk) 17:00, 27 April 2015 (UTC)
- Why are you looking at the track map from the JTWC rather than the reference cited from RSMC Nadi which clearly says "DEPRESSION MOVING EAST NORTHEAST". I dont think the section is up to par though and would advise you to be bold and expand it using the refs above.Jason Rees (talk) 17:07, 27 April 2015 (UTC)
