list
for population and literacy, the census report has a list for all states. i find the list very relevant, but am not sure if it is better to fill the article with lists. because, i am guessing, a lot more such lists will become available as census officials will start relasing more statistics. i support a summary of each item. the article is attracting a reasonable number of page views. a better article will be helpful for the public. ideas as to how this page can be designed are welcome. --CarTick (talk) 15:26, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
Some of the data seems to be copied from 2001 cencus, for example rural population of Orissa in 2001 was 31,287,422 and in 2011 its 34970562 as per the official website [1]. All data mentioned here needs to be checked. ajuonline (talk) 13:24, 8 September 2014 (UTC)

Census circles
In the context of the this census, what are "circles", for example at [http://www.census2011.co.in/data/district/149-dibrugarh-assam.html Circles in Dibrugarh District, Assam]. Batternut (talk) 19:36, 20 October 2017 (UTC)
Grouping of digits
Can we have the same grouping of digits in the whole article? The language data table uses the Indian grouping, the rest uses the universal standard. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.6.219.198 (talk) 14:19, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
