Grand Isle Hurricane of 1909

[edit]

I created Grand Isle Hurricane of 1909 as a redirect to this article for now, but I think it is a storm of enough significance to deserve an article eventually. Any other suggestions for the title, or is this as close to a standard name as it has? -- Infrogmation 23:02, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wow. I'm surprised this doesn't have an article. That name works. Hurricanehink 02:46, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Todo

[edit]

I upped it to start, seeing as it does have mention of every storm. For any higher, it needs at least one paragraph of each storm. Hurricanehink (talk) 13:36, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Source for modern hurricane season start and end dates?
  • "The most notable storm during the season formed in late August, while east of the Lesser Antilles. Moving west to west-northwestward, the storm quickly gained hurricane status, and traversed much of the Greater Antilles before strengthening into a Category 3 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson hurricane scale and crossing the Yucatán Peninsula. Briefly weakening after its interaction with land, it strengthened into a Category 3 once again, and made landfall in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas on August 27 before rapidly dissipating the following day." why three sentences in the lead for just one system? • "Late on August 24, weakened to a tropical depression while approaching the coast of Mexico,[1] with the weakening probably caused by wind shear generated by the sixth storm.[2]" what weakened? Donald Trump's polling numbers? :P YE Pacific Hurricane 00:58, 10 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
