Solomon Islands received one universality quota spot.[2] Sharon Firisua was selected to represent the country.[3] Firisua competed for the country at the last two Olympics, in the 5000 metres event in 2016 and the marathon in 2020.[3] When no athlete from the Solomon Islands qualified for the Paris Olympics, Firisua was chosen as the athlete to receive the universality quota spot.[3] However the only event with space was the 100 metres event.[3] Firisua would finish her event in 35th (and last place) during the heats, however set a personal best time.[4]
