I see the selected article is a bio

I see the selected article is a bio - this topic is broad enough to have a selected article on a substantive topic and a separate selected bio. Cheers! bd2412 T 23:02, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

Right now, the coverage of criminal justice topics on Wikipedia is subpar, and the selection of reasonably good articles is limited. (yet alone featured articles) I'm working on developing the content in the topic area, and at some point there will be enough for a selected bio and selected articel. -Aude (talk contribs) 17:50, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

Topics listing

I am working on the topics listing at Portal:Criminal justice/project-merge. →James Kidd (contr/talk/email) 06:20, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

You may wish to add these to the Did you know? part of the portal, to be rotated through. It's up to you folks. Cheers, Cirt 07:34, 2 December 2007 (UTC).

List of WikiProjects related to this portal topic

Might prove useful at some point. Cirt (talk) 17:23, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Only just seen this, if the above project can help in any way, leave a message at WT:LE SGGH speak! 23:34, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

Will scour our FAs (not that there are many at the moment) and our GAs to see what can be done. I suspect other members will leave their own messages. SGGH speak! 09:36, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
Thanks! I looked around for FAs and GAs, but if any more can be found, of course they'd be welcomed heartily. Cirt (talk) 09:38, 20 January 2008 (UTC).

DYKs

Started a new WP:DYK section. So far, gone back through til Wikipedia:Recent additions 183 for hooks to use. Trying to have a free-use image at the top of each set of three. Cirt (talk) 11:32, 18 January 2008 (UTC).

The first sentence

The first sentence of the main portal page, which describes what Criminal Justice is, has a poor grammatical error. Deter>detering. Levitar (talk) 15:41, 28 August 2008 (UTC)

Fixed, thank you. Cirt (talk) 15:48, 28 August 2008 (UTC)

opening statement about CJ

The second sentence: First is a run-on. Prisons do not arrest, charge, adjudicate, and punish prisoners. the way it is structures needs to be changed. Secondly, a prosecutor is not a law enforcement officer, rather he is a court officer and should not be grouped with police under law enforcment, and a district attorney is the same as a prosecutor. Thank youjman023 (talk) 22:48, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

This is from the main article Criminal justice, and should first be addressed there, thanks. Cirt (talk) 03:17, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

Archimedes a criminal?

Archimedes is shown on this portal, along with a number of criminals. As far as is known, Archimedes was not a criminal, and should not be on this portal. Unless someone can show why he should be shown here, I am going to remove the link.DThomsen8 (talk) 21:44, 28 March 2009 (UTC)Dthomsen8

He is not a criminal, but - the article is a Featured article, and is tagged as part of the Wikipedia:WikiProject Crime and Criminal Biography project on its talk page. Cirt (talk) 02:41, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
Good answer. I will go remove the tag from his talk page and the link, now that I know why. DThomsen8 (talk) 16:03, 30 March 2009 (UTC)Dthomsen8

Fallen officers

I've been pondering starting an article about fallen officers in the line of Duty, specifically, in Houston. During the creation of History of the Houston Police Department, I noticed there was a considerable amount of information of the various deaths. Before starting such a labor intensive project, I would like to seek some input and guidance as to the feasibility of such an article so it won't just get deleted because of WP:notable. Thanks.--Hourick (talk) 20:18, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

This is just the talk page for maintaining this portal. Perhaps try at the talk page of WP:CRIME. -- Cirt (talk) 23:25, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

Victimless crime

I think this should be in the Categories section. I don't know how to do this. deisenbe (talk) 12:58, 30 January 2015 (UTC)

Is that an actual category on Wikipedia? — Cirt (talk) 16:07, 30 January 2015 (UTC)
