- In 5110 (1349 CE), the Jews of Augsburg, Germany were massacred, during the time of the Black Death.
- In 5141 (1380 CE), many Jewish moneylenders were killed by the French nobles (who had hoped to relieve themselves of their debt) when Charles VI declared he would not expel the Jews.
- In 5357 (1596 CE), Luis de Carabajal the younger, the first Jewish author in the Americas, was tortured to death in Mexico City by the Spanish Inquisition, along with nine others.
- In 5609 (1948 CE), the Jews of Nassau, Germany were granted equality.
- In 5708 (1947 CE), the United Nations approved the Partition Plan, dividing the Land of Israel into a Jewish and an Arab state. The Jews agreed, but the Arabs refused.
