Petia Koleva (Bulgarian: Петя Колева, née Petrova; born June 20, 1987 in Sofia, Bulgaria) is a Bulgarian web designer. She is the first woman to win the Women in Tech award from the Bulgarian "Website of the Year" in 2021.[1] and was among the 12 women in "Top 100 Most Influential ITs in Bulgaria" in 2023.[2] She is a successor of Todor Kableshkov,[3] a 19th-century Bulgarian revolutionary and one of the leaders of the April Uprising.
Early life and education
[edit]Born on June 20, 1987, in Sofia, Bulgaria, Petia is an only child. Her parents divorced when she was a toddler. Her paternal great-grandfather was a first cousin of the revolutionary Todor Kableshkov.
She graduated high-school in Sofia, and from 2005 to 2009 attended New Bulgarian University where she studied psychology in the class of Prof. Boicho Kokinov, director of the Central and East European Center for Cognitive Science.
Her interest in web design began in her teenage years.[4] What was a hobby for years, she turned into her profession in 2014.
