Submission declined on 17 August 2024 by Vanderwaalforces (talk). This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.

- Comment: Coupled with the poor sources I mentioned earlier, an article for Frimpong is currently WP:TOOSOON. But have it in mind that this is a promising draft. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 10:56, 17 August 2024 (UTC)
- Comment: This does not pass WP:GNG. Sources like GhanaWeb, GhPage, Citinewsroom, Graphic Online, etc., are unreliable sources. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 07:09, 24 March 2024 (UTC)
- Comment: SIGCOV not met. The Herald (Benison) (talk) 06:56, 19 February 2024 (UTC)
Ohene Kwame Frimpong is a Ghanaian entrepreneur and philanthropist.[1] He is the founder of Salt Media group, the media conglomerate that owns and runs Salt FM in Agogo, a suburb of the Ashanti Region of Ghana.[2]
Early Life and Education
[edit]He was born in Agogo Asante Akyem but raised in Fadama, a Muslim communitty in Accra.[2] His late father, Mr. Kwadwo Smart was a guitarist, who played with Ghanaian highlife musician, Abrantie Amakye Dede.[3]
Career
[edit]As a native of Agogo Asante Akyem, he has dedicated himself to the development of the town. He launched Salt Media, the first television and radio in Agogo.[4] He contributed to the reconstruction and expansion of the central mosque in Agogo.[1][5] The mosque was reopened to the public in January 2024.[6]
As an entrepreneur, he launched Bofrot Puff Puff in 2021 as a quick mix for Bofrot, a Ghanaian breakfast delicacy, which was endorsed by Former Ghanaian President, John Agyekum Kufuor.[7]
In 2024, he teamed up with Medikal to organise the Medikal Live in London concert[8] at the Indigo O² in the UK.[9]
Politics
[edit]In October, he announced his intention to contest the seat of the Asante Akyem North Constituency as an independent candidate in the 2024 general elections.[10]
Philanthropy
[edit]Kwame has been involved in a number of developmental projects in his community. Most notably, Kwame sponsored and took part in the reconstruction of the central mosque in Agogo.[1] He also supported the construction of a classroom unit at Savior M. A. School in Assnte Akyem Agogo.[11] In 2024, Ohene led the groundbreaking for the construction of a new clinic in Asante Agogo.[12]
Recognition
[edit]Kwame's contribution to the reconstruction of the Agogo Central Mosque[13][5] was recognized with a citation of honour from Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II [14], the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu as well as the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo at the Head of State Awards.[15]
Kwame was named in Avance Media's Top 50 Most Influential People, in Ghana in 2021[16] and was the ‘African Young Entrepreneur of the Year' at 2021 African Achievers Awards.[17][18] He was also one of the five entrepreneurs selected to receive the African Youth Badge Honoree Award.[19][20]
The National Communications Awards in Ghana named Kwame the Emerging Media CEO of The Year[21] and he also won the Best Entrepreneur in Food and Beverage at the Ghana 40 under 40 awards.[22]
