Nurullah Efe Ankut is a Turkish teacher, writer and politican who's been the leader of the People's Liberation Party since June 15th, 2005. He also works as an editor of his party's newspaper, People's Path to Liberation.
First years and occupational career
[edit]Being born in 1945, he studied at May 14th Primary Education School, Konya Mixed Middle School, Konya Men's High School. After this, he graduated from the University of Istanbul's philosophy department in the year 1972. As a student, he also worked as a construction worker during breaks in his school years [1]
After developing his socialist views in high school, Ankut decided to study philosophy in an effort to better understand socialism as a theory. In 1967, he adopted the socialist theory of Hikmet Kıvılcımlı, one of the leaders of the Turkish Revolutionary movement, and worked at the Association for Combating Unemployment and Expensiveness in the name of continuing his theoretical and practical struggle. As part of this organization's activities he and some of his friends formed the Union of Revolutionary Villager Students. He was arrested during the June 15-16 events and remained in custody for about a month.[1]
After graduating from university, he began working as a teacher at Mersin Mut High School. He married his wife Hacer Ankut at November 15, and was assigned to Konya Veteran High School due to his married status. A year and a half later, he was sent to work at Konya High School due to his political activities, by the decision of the Commision of Principles.
