La Fleur, formally known as Sanna La Fleur Engdahl, born October 10, 1979 in Örebro is a Swedish music producer and DJ. She runs the record label Power Plant Records.
Biography
[edit]La Fleur started her DJ career in the mid-2010s. The year 2006 she formed the DJ duo Housewives with DJ and producer Adeline Hedmar.[1][2] Housewives released two EPs and a remix for Kents Hjärta EP. Between the years 2007 and 2010 she was, together with Hedmar, a host of the radio program P3 Dans.[2]
In 2010, she set up Berlin-based Power Plant Records, and released her debut EP Flowerhead. The song, which was played by Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1, sold out in two weeks. As part of Power Plant, La Fleur launched a clothing line with designer Stacey DeVoe. The albums Eavesdropper (2012) and Feline (2013) feature covers illustrated by artist Hans Arnold.
Since 2013, La Fleur has had a DJ residency at the Watergate in Berlin and tours all over the world. She has played at Berghain and Boiler Room and is part of the Hot Since '82 touring showcase.
In 2015 she won Dance of the Year at P3 Guld.
On August 25, 2018, she produced her first Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1. In 2018, together with DJ and producer Sasha, she also released the single Connection, which was named Essential new tune on BBC Radio 1.
La Fleur is a trained pharmacist and worked during the COVID-19 pandemic at Karolinska University Hospital in Huddinge.
On October 16, 2023, La Fleur released the double single Chian / Slowdive on the Pias Électronique label. It is the first single from the upcoming album Väsen.
