The KOGAS taekwondo team (Korean: 코가스 태권도팀) was created in 1997 by KOGAS, a South Korean state-owned company specializing in natural gas. The team has gained recognition for nurturing high-performing athletes who have represented the organization in international competitions. Notable athletes associated with the team include Jang Jun.[1], Yang Hui-Chan[2], and Bae Yoon-Min[3]
Kim So-Hee[4] and Lee Won-Jae[5], both former international taekwondo players, currently hold the positions of physical trainer and coach, respectively, within the team. Jae Hyun Shin[6] has been serving as the head coach but has been a part of the KOGAS taekwondo management team since 2003, when the team was re-founded, changing higher management.
KOGAS taekwondo team athletes have participated in multiple championships with international value, such as the Asian Taekwondo Games, Taekwondo World Championships, and the Olympic Games (London 2012: Lee Dae-Hoon[7] (silver, 58kg), Rio 2016: Lee Dae-Hoon[8] (bronze, 58-68kg), Tokyo 2020: Jang Jun[9] (bronze, 58kg)).
