Ianni Kay.[1] (Born Ianni Karagiannis) is an American hard rock/heavy metal guitar player from Long Island, NY. Currently, he is the recording guitarist for Calliope Wren, and the touring guitarist for the power metal band ShadowStrike.
Primarily using Gibson (guitar company) , Schecter Guitar Research , Marshall Amplification , Neural DSP
Early Life
[edit]Born in New York to Michele and Konstantinos Karagiannis, Ianni was introduced to heavy metal at the age of two by his parents, who had met at a Mötley Crüe concert. Listening to bands like Lordi and Bleeding Through. He got is first guitar at the age 8, and never stopped practicing.

[edit]The guitar players that shaped Kay the most include Jake Pitts; Randy Rhoads; Nuno Bettencourt; Gus G; Herman Li and Jacky Vincent.
Bands that Ianni grew up listening to include Black Veil Brides; My Chemical Romance; Motionless in White; Suicide Silence; Chelsea Grin to name a few...
Career
[edit]Throughout teenage years well into his twenties, Ianni founded his first band called Onto Carthage. The metalcore band performed with acts such as Lorna Shore and The Plot in You.
Later on, he was one of the founding members of Long Island deathcore band Vyletongue. In Fall of 2023, Ianni came in contact with a young singer from New York by the name of Calliope Wren[2], and became the Lead Guitarist of the Project... Appearing in videos such as "Another Stupid Love Song" and "Fading." As the recording guitar player, he was on the track "Fading" as well as several other tracks. Also branching off into a Paramore tribute band known as "Decoded."
In Spring of 2024, Ianni was invited to be a part of the Power Metal band ShadowStrike [3], signed to Avalon as the Live/Touring guitar player[4]
Personal Life
[edit]Having developing a close friendship with Calliope Wren, the two are confirmed to be in a relationship since May of 2024. [5] [2]
