Gajjar Town is the administrative headquarter of Mashkay Tehsil, within Awaran District of Kalat Division, located in the southern region of Balochistan Province, Pakistan. The entire tehsil Mashkay is known for its rugged, mountainous terrain, which forms part of the larger Makran mountain range. Gajjar Town faces significant challenges in terms of infrastructure, including limited road networks, electricity, healthcare, and education facilities. The area is predominantly rural, with most residents engaged in agriculture, livestock herding, and small-scale trade and business.
Like the rest of the district, it faces development challenges. The region is known for its arid climate, and water resources are scarce, making agriculture difficult.
