Dawere International High School, is a four-year, online education program specialized high school, located in Miami, Florida:, founded in 2016, with the objective of providing formal distance secondary education to hispanic-latino students for students outside Latin America school systems.[1][2][3]
Dawere International High School belongs to Dawere Inc. an online academic institution with schools in the United States, Mexico, Honduras, Colombia, Venezuela and the Dominican Republic.[4]
The Dawere International High School is registered the Florida Department of Education with the number 6139, and in June 28th, 2023, the school received Cognia accreditation.
It has also partnered with Miami Dade College to offer its students dual enrollment programs with the college.
History
[edit]It was founded in year 2016 as part of Dawere Inc schools system, by the Venezuelan engineer Álvaro Gonzalez, CEO of the company, offering the High School program for latino students that wanted to earn an American High School Diploma, with the flexibility of distance education learning[5], but also a comprehensive and updated curriculum complying with the Florida Department of Education requirements. The school was registered with the Department of Education, with number 6139, and in the year 2023, the school received Cognia accreditation and acknowledgement for the quality of their programs, offering both the accelerated 18 credit and the 24 credit programs for high school students.
In 2020, the school offered scholarships through their program "Becas semillas" [Seeds scholarships] financed by USAID, giving the opportunity for youth and adults to continue their unfinished education and earn their high school education during the COVID pandemic outbreak.
In Aruba, Dawere works in a partnership with Soaza Adventist Academy and the Aruba Ministry of Education to provide formal education to refugees and immigrants in the island
In January 2023, Dawere International High School signed an agreement with Miami Dade College (MDC) by which students could participate in dual enrollment and obtain college credits according to Florida statutes 1007.271.[6]
