Alice Morrison is best known as a BBC television presenter who hosts shows about history, travel and exploration within the Arab World.
Early life
[edit]Morrison was born in Scotland, but grew up in Uganda and Ghana. She worked as a journalist across North Africa and the Middle East, before moving into a corporate media job. She left this sphere to become a full-time adventurer in 2011, moving to Morocco..[1][2], where she led an expedition to explore the Draa River[3].
Television career
[edit]Morrison hosted her first BBC show Morocco to Timbuktu: An Arabian Adventure in 2017[4], a travel documentary following Saharan salt trade routes from Morocco to Timbuktu via the Sahara Desert[5]. In 2024, she followed up with Arabian Adventures [6] (unofficially subtitled Secrets of the Nabateans[7]), a history documentary filmed in Jordan and Saudi Arabia focusing on the Nabatean Kingdom[8].
Morris announced that in 2025 she will start a trek covering the length of Saudi Arabia’s Hejaz (western escarpment) from north to south, spread across two winter seasons, which will be the topic of another BBC series[9][10][11]
