Al-Falah School is one of the oldest schools in Saudi Arabia. It was founded by the Saudi pearl merchant Haj Mohammed Ali Ridha Zaynal on December 7, 1905, in the city of Jeddah.[1][2] Six years later, he opened a well-known branch in Mecca.[1] Haj Zaynal founded other branches in Mumbai, Bahrain, Dubai, and Hadhramaut, but they did not continue as the school’s first two branches in Jeddah and Mecca did.[3][2]
Establishment
[edit]in Jeddah, it is located next to Barha Al-Zubaidi, and in Mecca it was first built in the Al Qushahiyah neighborhood, then it moved to the Al-Bab neighborhood in Al-Nassif, then it returned to Al-Qushashiyah, then to Al-Shubaikah, and to Al Nuzha, and finally to Al Diyafa where it is location to this date.[2]
The idea of establishing the school goes back to the merchant Muhammad Zainal, who was saddened by the illiteracy in Saudi Arabia at the dawn of the twentieth century,[1][2] so he approached the Turkish governor, assisted by Sheikh Abdul Raouf Jamjoom, with a request to establish a school. The governor agreed, and the Haj’s wife, Khadija Abdullah Zainal, presented it. She is the daughter of the Mayor in Jeddah. She used her jewelry and jewelry to buy the school building and finance it.[4]

[edit]Among the great teachers of Al-Falah School in Hijaz are: Ahmed Nadrin, Anwar Qarout, Ibrahim Al-Nouri, Hassan Sinari, Salem Shafi, Alawi Abbas Maliki, Muhammad Al-Arabi Al-Tabani, Muhammad Nour Saif, Muhammad Amin Kutbi, Yahya Aman, Omar Hamdan, Muhammad Hamid Awad, Muhammad Atallah, Muhammad Taher Al-Dabbagh, Abdullah Hamdouh, Muhammad Al-Tayeb Al-Marrakesh, and more.[5]
Among the most famous graduates of the school, in the Jeddah branch: Hamza Shehata, Ahmed Qandil, Abed Sheikh, Abdel-Wahab Abdel-Wasa, Hassan Nassif, Mohamed Ibrahim Masoud, Hisham Naser, Muhammad Mahmoud Zahid, Muhammad Naghi, Ibrahim Youssef Zainal, Muhammad Abdullah Ali Rida, Ahmed Baeshen, Ismail Abu Dawood, Engineer Abdel Halim Millibari, Dr. Hassan Abdel Rahman Basabrin.[5][6][7] From the branch of Makkah: Abdel-Wahab Ashi, Abdel Salam Omar, Omar Arab, Hussein Arab, Muhammad Hassan Faki, Brigade Engineer/ Sharif Ibrahim Hamid Saeed and more.[5][6][7]
Ranking
[edit]Al-Falah School has maintained its ranking among the top ten schools in the country over the years according to statistics from the Qiyas,[8] and Qiyas's statistics are the most important in evaluating educational institutions in the country.
