Trout yourselves

[edit]

Category:Triller

[edit]
The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: rename to Category:Triller (company) and {{trout}} Thecleanerand for moving the category before this discussion concluded. HouseBlaster (talk • he/they) 06:00, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Nomination for Isoceles-sai who requested this at the Teahouse. C F A 💬 16:17, 22 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The category makes no sense. It collects a disparate collection of pages with nothing in common; there is no text to explain what the category is about. Isoceles-sai (talk) 16:27, 22 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Marcocapelle:" the category should be renamed to Category:Triller (company)".
I've also added a description of the subject as suggested. I've complied with all issues, and I've more than made my case for why this page shouldn't be deleted. Thecleanerand (talk) 13:58, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete We don't usually list templates in categories (which is better at this purpose than a cat), and this isn't a defining characteristic of any of the articles as a whole. And the description added is way too long and reads as WP:PROMO; if this is kept it needs to be shortened to basics like a short title description. Nate (chatter) 20:48, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Nah, HouseBlaster. How about you, and everyone else go {{trout}} yourself?

Isoceles-sai, {{trout}} yourself for wasting my time opening that this discussion when you DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW WIKIPEDIA WORKS!

Marcocapelle, {{trout}} yourself the same reason, especially because as someone who "has been on Wikipedia for 11 years, 4 months and 23 days" YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER

"MrSchimpf", {{trout}} yourself because:

"Isoceles-sai: there is no text to explain what the category is about"

I've also added a description of the subject as suggested

"MrSchimpf": and the description added is way too long and reads as WP:PROMO"

But really, {{trout}} yourself in-general

And every single one of you irresponsible "admins" can {{trout}} yourselves too. ESPECIALLY Liz; "Ms. I'm experiencing significant stress that affects my ability to work on Wikipedia and might choose to avoid complicated tasks or areas prone to conflict."

You hypocrites are so drunk on the power you frequently abuse that you don't even realize the biggest problem with Wikipedia is YOU. You made me wait a WHOLE WEEK before closing a discussion that should have NEVER been started in the first place, and you want to "trout" ME?

THIS is why I don't respect any of you. This is why NOBODY outside Wikipedia respects you (and I'm not talking about the gloried bigots and conspiracy theorists of "The Third Right", who can also {{trout}} themselves). As long as this website is governed by glorified Facebook users, it will continue to be an overrated bureaucracy of overly-sensitive megalomaniacs cherishing the textbook definition of misinformation for school kids who are too lazy to fact check and verify a Wikipedia page with little to no citations or sources than do actual research. Thecleanerand (talk) 16:43, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Discussions at CFD last a week. The D in CFD stands for "discussion", not deletion: if you want to rename a category, you have to go through CFD. And discussions on Wikipedia last at least a week so everyone regardless of their schedule can have a chance to comment. If you want to get that changed, the village pump is the place to get that changed. Best, HouseBlaster (talk • he/they) 17:09, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Edit warring

[edit]

MrSchimpf and Thecleanerand, you are edit warring. Please discuss on the talk page. Thanks, HouseBlaster (talk • he/they) 17:50, 22 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I don't deal with editors who scream in edit summaries about 'reading the room' and are sarcastic about any apologies, so I'll find something else to edit now. Getting annoyed about a category description that maybe 15 people will read in a year is just WP:LAME. Nate (chatter) 18:34, 22 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
And lord, personally attacking good editors like @Liz: over something as small as this; I didn't even know TCA posted all that above at all after the CfD discussion (how many times must TCA get warned before an admin deals with them?). You really want me to discuss things with an editor who mocked Liz's mental health as she deals with editors like them who compare basic moderation (and patiently explaining about why categories shouldn't be emptied) to the Third Reich? I hope you understand why I'm tapping out here and this warning just read as 'thanks, but I'm done here'; nobody on en.wiki needs to deal with this toxicity. Nate (chatter) 19:15, 22 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Nobody on the internet needs to deal with self-righteous, "LAME" editors who selfishly put their own biases and needs first before basic competence. It's not "toxic" to call out editors who can't do their "jobs" because they have mental health issues: it's called being productive and calling out BS.
And in typical useless editor fashion, you'd rather misconstrue my words and use my past transgressions to dismiss me then properly argue my point:
My comment on the "Third RIGHT" was for the Trump-worshiping nutjobs on social media who claim Wikipedia is nothing but "leftist propaganda", rather than an accurate and neutral source of information. Worthless editors like you are the reason why, because you're incompetent and undisciplined. Not only do you frequently turn a blind-eye to the inaccuracy in front of you, this whole edit war proves you perpetuate it. And you have the nerve to say that "only 15 people will care about this?" Then I can take pride knowing those "15 people" will know that Triller is, and I quote: and "American (social) media and sports company". Rather than a damn sports promoter, as a certain "Lame" editor would have them believe.
Inept editors like you treat all criticism, regardless of how scathing it is, as personal insults. You take pride thinking you're making this website better, when you're the reason why NO ONE should trust ANYTHING written on it beyond the cited sources (or lack thereof, because "good faith") at the bottom of the page. If not for Wikipedia Review and Wikipediocracy, neo-Nazis would be the only people calling out the hypocrisy of this website and its mediocre editors.
It'd be more "productive" if you'd just "walk away" and said nothing; rather than complain like the overly-sensitive waste of space that you are.
Or, to repeat something I ACTUALLY said: "Trout yourself". Thecleanerand (talk) 14:39, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
