The 2025 Buffalo mayoral election will be held on November 4, 2025.
Incumbent acting Buffalo mayor, Christopher Scanlon, is eligible to run for a full term.
Background
[edit]Incumbent acting mayor Christopher Scanlon succeeded Byron Brown after he became the CEO of Western Regional Off-Track Betting.[1] Scanlon has yet to announce whether he will run for a full term, or not.
New York state senator Sean Ryan and former Buffalo Fire Commissioner Garnell Whitfield have both announced their candidacies.
