Date
User:Pine, I restored your proposed date of Sunday, June 22 after I moved the previous version of the page to an archive for 2013. Now we can start with a clean page for 2014. I should point out, though, that June 21 is the proposed date for Wiki Loves Pride. Might conflict in some cities. --Another Believer (Talk) 05:18, 19 May 2014 (UTC)
Which page is being used for planning purposes?
Wikipedia:Wiknic or Wikipedia:Wiknic/2014? --Another Believer (Talk) 19:59, 24 May 2014 (UTC)
Cool idea
Unfortunately I'll be out of town the weekend planned for DC but otherwise I'd be interested in attending. Though ... does it ever happen at one of these events that two Wikipedians introduce themselves—and one realizes that the other is the one who's been reverting all his edits? —Largo Plazo (talk) 18:25, 20 June 2014 (UTC)
Netherlands
Hi, we're not in the USA, but the Dutch city of Eindhoven wil join the fun. Picnic on 6 Juli. nl:Wikipedia:Ontmoeten. All the best and have a good picnic, Taketa (talk) 19:56, 23 June 2014 (UTC)
Dallas?
Anyone planning another picnic here in the lone star state?Wgfcrafty (talk) 02:26, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
- You can do this pretty easily; please just pick a time and location and update Wikipedia:Meetup/Dallas–Fort Worth with a new entry (and remember to include the actual meetup point in whatever park). There are at least 3 or 4 local Wikipedians I can help you invite, and the site banner should hopefully bring in a few more.--Pharos (talk) 04:54, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
What's bigoted about this?!?
It seems like a good idea to me, without any "bigoted" aspects as the poster above alleges unreasonable. I just wish the organizers for the Miami event had a plan, for I would certainly be there. - Florida Brian, please be bold and organize an event yourself if you want! You can choose a date and location that are convenient for you and others. I will remove the unconstructive edit above. --Pine✉ 07:21, 2 July 2014 (UTC)
Fargo, North Dakota anyone?
I'm too lazy to start a wiknic in Fargo, but I'd love to maybe go there. Please? 96.3.49.28 (talk) 15:41, 3 July 2014 (UTC)
Fort Lauderdale, Florida anyone?
I would love to meet some Wiki people at a Wiknic and am happy to organize something. Any takers? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vgodfrey (talk • contribs) 20:50, 26 June 2015 (UTC)
Expand to July and August 2015?
I'd like to expand the suggested time period to cover all of the weekends of July and August 2015, so when we start some belated publicitysoon, there will not be too much emphasis given to July 5, which is really not practical for many localities.--Pharos (talk) 03:54, 28 June 2015 (UTC)
Bay Area?
Given that the WMF Foundation is headquartered in San Francisco, I'm surprised there's no Bay Area meetup. Anyone up for it? II | (t - c) 06:21, 8 July 2015 (UTC)
Please remove the evil banner advertisement
I have no idea what this is, and I hope to continue not knowing - in the meantime, this whatever-it-is is responsible for placing a deliberately evil banner advertisement on Wikipedia, with a circled X "close" button placed in a nonstandard location which in any case does not close the advertisement, but hijacks the clicker to this page. It is also recurring for me. Please remove this intrusive advertising. 64.105.98.115 (talk) 23:08, 7 July 2016 (UTC)
2016 Seattle Wiknic listed as happening in 2015
I assume this is a typo but I don't know anything about this so I don't want to mess things up by editing it. Zupotachyon (talk) 06:05, 8 July 2016 (UTC)
- Got fixed by someone else. Nothing to see here. Move along. Zupotachyon (talk) 23:19, 14 July 2016 (UTC)
Good afternoon by His Excellency Judge of the Haya High Court I have a question for you: have you be able to call this high International Tribune those politician who are in power in the Dominican Republic who before coming to power did not have nothing and are now millionaire, malign elections of Stated money, are associated with dark group, also control the Election Board and the Justice. Last May 15/16 in the election, they made a big fraud. If you his Excellency Lord is achieved the tests?

Wiknic 2018 - July 28/29 and nearby weekends
I've updated for Wiknic 2018 - perhaps folks could pick July 28/29 and nearby weekends, whatever works locally!--Pharos (talk) 03:17, 13 June 2018 (UTC)
Banner advertisement
@Pharos: During the last WALRUS call there was mention of a main page banner advertisement available to increase turn out? Is that still possible?--RightCowLeftCoast (Moo) 03:14, 21 August 2019 (UTC)
- Yes, not a main page banner, but a centralnotice banner to logged-in users for the virtual Wiknic: m:CentralNotice/Request/Virtual Great American Wiknic.--Pharos (talk) 19:10, 6 August 2020 (UTC)
