Wikipedia talk:Wiki Ed/New York University/Elementary Haitian Creole I (Fall 2018)
Hello. Se Mariyama
This is English Wikipedia!
[edit]Hello, everyone. I'm a regular Wikipedia patroller who came across an article that had been posted in Haitian Creole. I discovered that the author is a student in your group, so I thought I'd give all of you an important clarification here. There are Wikipedias in many languages. This is English Wikipedia, for articles in English only. There's a Haitian Creole Wikipedia at https://ht.wikipedia.org/. If you'd like to create articles in Kreyòl, that's the place to do it.
Beyond the Five Pillars and the core content policies, every Wikipedia develops its own guidelines in its own way, so you should familiarize yourself with that Wikipedia's guidelines and practices before working there.
Thanks, and happy editing. Largoplazo (talk) 15:44, 18 December 2018 (UTC)

Hello, I understand that this English Wikepdia, I made a mistake when moving my article from my sandbox. (@Largoplazo:),
That's fine. I saw others have been drafting articles here in Creole, and I wanted to advise everyone in advance, so they can avoid the surprise of a deletion notification in case they weren't already aware that they shouldn't publish here. Largoplazo (talk) 16:21, 18 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Largoplazo: thanks for posting this alert here. I've been in contact with the students on their talk pages and via email so hopefully this issue is resolved. Elysia (Wiki Ed) (talk) 17:20, 19 December 2018 (UTC)
