Lebanese Arabic userboxes

[edit]

In this template page, for example, the navbox in the bottom refers to North Levantine Arabic. Is there a way to change it to Lebanese Arabic, with the code apc-LB? Nehme1499 12:43, 29 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nehme1499, unfortunately, no. The navbox at the bottom of Template:User apc-LB-3 is generated by Template:User x, which only supports the international standard ISO 639 for language codes. The code apc is defined at Module:Language/data/ISO 639-3. See also the official page of ISO 639-3.
The language code apc corresponds to Levantine Arabic. As per article Lebanese Arabic: Lebanese Arabic [...] is a variety of North Levantine Arabic. There is no separate ISO 639-3 code for Lebanese Arabic. —andrybak (talk) 18:23, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Here are a couple of examples of other languages, which have language variety userboxes with the same issue in the navbox:

TemplateData for userboxes

[edit]

There is no WikiProject Userboxes in my homewiki, so I come here to ask your opinion. How do you think, would adding TemplateData to userboxes make them easier to discover and use? If so, where is the best place to put it: on the template page, on the documentation subpage or a separate subpage? Thanks in advance for your comments. [edit]

It seems that each region that can be passed to {{User in region}} template has a subpage of Wikipedia:Userboxes that lists the most common variations of that userbox. For example, Wikipedia:Userboxes/Location/US-HI. It seems to me that option 56, which shows "This user is from _", is one of the most useful variations and should be clearly advertized on those subpages. But since I assume there are like a thousand of them I hardly want to edit them all. So... is there a way to show that option on all of those subpages or is editing them one at a time the only way? Outdated Userboxes

[edit]

Hi there,

there are quite a few outdated userboxes. Two I noticed were the Firefox Aurora userbox (discontinued a decade ago) and the MSN userbox (discontinued in the 2010s)

Is anybody willing to help me go through these userboxes and remove them (from the pages, NOT wikipedia)? HaytchT (talk) 21:38, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Having userboxes for obsolete software on userpages is fine. We don't need to remove such userboxes from pages. —andrybak (talk) 21:42, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Help pls

[edit]

Can someone take a look at Template:User published author? For some reason, its height is greater than the default userbox height and I'm unsure how to change it.  Bait30  Talk 2 me pls? 20:22, 14 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I see nothing wrong with the height of this userbox it has always been that size. Catfurball (talk) 20:45, 14 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I know, I just wanted to see if it could be changed to match the majority of other userboxes.  Bait30  Talk 2 me pls? 22:39, 14 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
