You are invited to join the discussion at Talk:Fremantle Prison#Main Cell Block RFC. Is "Main Cell Block" a proper noun – i.e. should it be capitalised? Thanks. Evad37 [talk] 06:13, 22 March 2015 (UTC)

Mauthausen-Gusen concentration camp FAR

I have nominated Mauthausen-Gusen concentration camp for a featured article review here. Please join the discussion on whether this article meets featured article criteria. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. If substantial concerns are not addressed during the review period, the article will be moved to the Featured Article Removal Candidates list for a further period, where editors may declare "Keep" or "Delist" the article's featured status. The instructions for the review process are here. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 22:15, 14 April 2015 (UTC)

New pictures of US federal prisons at the BOP website

Hey guys! The BOP website at http://bop.gov has new pictures of federal prisons that are higher quality than the ones before. As we know, usually pictures on US federal government websites are public domain. Would somebody mind uploading them to the Commons?

Thanks WhisperToMe (talk) 12:36, 16 May 2015 (UTC)

A requested move discussion has been initiated for Transport of concentration camp inmates to Tyrol to be moved to Transport of concentration camp inmates to South Tyrol. This page is of interest to this WikiProject and interested members may want to participate in the discussion here. —RMCD bot 23:16, 28 May 2015 (UTC)

Article request: Joyce Ann Brown

I just read this interesting article in The New York Times on Joyce Ann Brown. I am surprised there is no wikipedia article on her and thought I might inspire someone to create an article by putting a message on this page. Best.4meter4 (talk) 04:46, 20 June 2015 (UTC)

Please see: Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_China#On_whether_a_prison_should_be_mentioned_in_an_article_about_a_Chinese_municipality for information on a dispute on whether a prison should be mentioned in a municipality article. I would very much appreciate your input. WhisperToMe (talk) 17:18, 11 April 2016 (UTC)

Greetings WikiProject Correction and Detention Facilities/Archive 4 Members!

This is a one-time-only message to inform you about a technical proposal to revive your Popular Pages list in the 2016 Community Wishlist Survey that I think you may be interested in reviewing and perhaps even voting for:

If the above proposal gets in the Top 10 based on the votes, there is a high likelihood of this bot being restored so your project will again see monthly updates of popular pages.

Further, there are over 260 proposals in all to review and vote for, across many aspects of wikis.

Thank you for your consideration. Please note that voting for proposals continues through December 12, 2016.

Best regards, SteviethemanDelivered: 17:58, 7 December 2016 (UTC)

An ongoing discussion about the page that I would like input from other people on. --Harizotoh9 (talk) 12:18, 13 February 2017 (UTC)

We – Community Tech – are happy to announce that the Popular pages bot is back up-and-running (after a one year hiatus)! You're receiving this message because your WikiProject or task force is signed up to receive the popular pages report. Every month, Community Tech bot will post at Wikipedia:WikiProject Correction and Detention Facilities/Archive 4/Popular pages with a list of the most-viewed pages over the previous month that are within the scope of WikiProject Correction and Detention Facilities.

We've made some enhancements to the original report. Here's what's new:

  • The pageview data includes both desktop and mobile data.
  • The report will include a link to the pageviews tool for each article, to dig deeper into any surprises or anomalies.
  • The report will include the total pageviews for the entire project (including redirects).

We're grateful to Mr.Z-man for his original Mr.Z-bot, and we wish his bot a happy robot retirement. Just as before, we hope the popular pages reports will aid you in understanding the reach of WikiProject Correction and Detention Facilities, and what articles may be deserving of more attention. If you have any questions or concerns please contact us at m:User talk:Community Tech bot.

Warm regards, the Community Tech Team 17:16, 17 May 2017 (UTC)

@Johan: Thank you, we are aware and we are happy about this news. Mr. Guye (talk) (contribs) 08:03, 21 May 2017 (UTC)

Continents

Category:Prisoners and detainees by country is on its second page, this is causing several countries to not appear on the dropdown menus on parent categories. What would thoughts be regarding a Category:Prisoners and detainees by continent and then like Category:Prisoners and detainees in North America and similar? I am substituting "of" instead of "by" since unlike nations, continents do not DO imprisoning, just describing where they are imprisoned. These subcategories would then be under a page and all would display, and it would make it easier to find certain countries if you knew what continent they were in but maybe not the spelling, if there were fewer selections. Prison food

How hard is it to get a photo of a prison meal? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 07:15, 29 July 2017 (UTC)

@Anna Frodesiak: May have to find public domain stuff, as cameras are not allowed in prisons. Perhaps e-mailing corrections agencies and asking for free photos may help. WhisperToMe (talk) 20:52, 5 December 2017 (UTC)
Hi WhisperToMe. Ah, no cameras. That explains why commons has none. I did write to several agencies years ago, but no response. Maybe I'll try again. Cheers. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 21:50, 5 December 2017 (UTC)
