Hi, i'm from the community portal redesign project. We're discussing color options, and i was initially looking around for this: Wikipedia:Colours. I also found you folk, and was wondering if any of you would be interested in helping expand the list of suggested color schemes at Wikipedia:Colours (to maybe 4 or 5 schemes max? that don't clash with each other). In our discussion, we all like the colors at commons:Help:Contents. I'll be adding those (and a few more from Wikipedia:WikiProject_Usability/Color) to Wikipedia:Colours as soon as i can (decipher the tables).
I also thought it might be a page worth adding to your Goal's list, or as something worth watching over. Thanks :-)--Quiddity 05:53, 2 April 2006 (UTC)
Color peer review
The talk page for Color says there was a peer review for that article, but it looks like the archive has been deleted. Does anyone know what kinds of comments the article got? I hate to bother people with another peer review on the same article, but it would be a good step toward getting that article to FA. Thanks! -- Laura S | talk to me 19:18, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
- Seems to be a mistake?[1] Nothing in the Peer Review archives for it. There was one for Wikipedia:Peer review/HSV color space/archive1, and a no-feedback review attempt of Wikipedia:Peer review/Dominant wavelength/archive1 though. I'll remove the banner. --Quiddity 18:04, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
Userbox
I got bored :) and created a userbox for our project. I'm keeping it in user space for now since that seems to be the direction userboxes are headed. Please feel free to copy/question/comment/subst and change the text color to your own favorite! -- Laura S | talk to me 02:44, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
I wanted to add some optional height and width parameters to this template. I'm not sure if I got it right. Can someone check it out and improve as necessary. NoSeptember 13:34, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
I added a color tool article
I added a Color tool article, which I think is relevant, considering that most people don't have color values memorized and are used fairly often. I am going to expand this article, as time permits. I was wondering if I could add the WikiProject Color support tag to its talk page? Thanks. (Narkstraws 04:05, 4 July 2006 (UTC))
- It's definitely relevant and probably valuable. We just need to make sure that it doesn't devolve into a long list of software, and we especially need to beware of spam in the list. -- Laura S | talk to me 13:26, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
- added tag per request :) -Quiddity 19:23, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
- thanks. :) (Narkstraws 16:28, 20 July 2006 (UTC))
Interesting discussion on gamma correction
There is an interesting discussion on Talk:List of colors#Gamma corrected? about whether all colors that are not gamma corrected should be described as "incorrect". I don't want to bring the argument here, but I think it would be useful if more participated in it, whatever their view. Notinasnaid 12:51, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the heads-up :) -Quiddity 19:23, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
Project userbox
I added {{Wikipedia:WikiProject Color/Userbox}} to the project page. Interestingly, the colors don't display correctly there! I wonder if it's interacting somehow with one of the other templates. Rfrisbietalk 19:04, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
Link colors?
Hey, I hope its ok to ask this here, I'm wondering if there is a way to change the colors of links in Wikipedia like you can with html using these commands: alink="#33ffff" link="#33ffff" vlink="#33ffff" --blm07 15:21, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
- Not recommended. The site has a consistent look&feel that should remain the same (otherwise we'd splinter into little aesthetic fiefdoms..)
- But what specifically did you have in mind? Is this for an article, portal, or template? --Quiddity 18:46, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
- I'm thinking about making my own small wiki that uses custom colors for the pages, based on the colors at my homepage (check Horizons on my talk page) --blm07 19:16, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
- Ahh, you want help desk help of some sort. Try either http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Communication orWikipedia:Help desk, or maybe something under Help:Contents/Technical information. Hope that helps. --Quiddity 19:40, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

WikiPalettes
I've noticed some of the high-level "WikiPalettes" are similar but not the same, such as those below.

Is there some place where such things are coordinated? Rfrisbietalk 01:03, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
- Hypothetically, WP:COLOUR. But not many people know about it, and I havent had a chance to update it much recently. (I want to expand the list on the projectpage, from the concept-table on the talkpage. And to merge the usability projects page on colour to there. See its talk for more details). --Quiddity 01:37, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks, but that was too obvious for me to find it on my own! ;-) Rfrisbietalk 02:27, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
Adolf Hozel
Does anyone have info on Adolf Hozel? His article stub just got a {{bio-notability}} tag, and is in danger of deletion. --Quiddity 05:58, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
