Arthur Edington's experiment gave confirmation for part of General relativity. While GTR is indeed a part of the Theory of relativity, it's imprecise to say the experiment confirmed part of Theory of relativity. Please change it to confirmed part of General relativity, which is the more precise term. Loom91 05:57, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

2019 notes
[edit]Proposed addition: Eddington experiment for 29 May 1919 (100th anniversary):
- 1919 – the Eddington experiment tests General Relativity during the total solar eclipse of 29 May.
Would this be suitable for inclusion? @Howcheng: picture of eclipse is available at article. Carcharoth (talk) 14:36, 27 May 2019 (UTC)
- @Carcharoth: Sorry, there's a general lack of footnotes in the Background, Expeditions, and Later research sections, enough so that the entire article is worth a {{refimprove}} tag. —howcheng {chat} 16:25, 27 May 2019 (UTC)
- @Howcheng: understood. Will try and improve it over the next few days. Probably not in time for 29 May this year, but I'll probably submit it at DYK in any case. Thanks for considering the request. Carcharoth (talk) 08:36, 28 May 2019 (UTC)
