Requests and inquiries for SFAI Special Collections and Archives

[edit]

If there is something in particular you would like to see (or inquire as to its presence) from SFAI's Special Collections or Institutional Archives, whether out of sheer curiosity or as reference material for articles you plan to improve during the event, please post your request below so we can provide our wonderful Librarian/Archivist with a wish list of material to pull in advance (noting that some material might not be available). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nikikana (talkcontribs) 23:06, 13 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I heard from someone who was a student at the time that there was an influx of filmmakers from Iran who came to study at SFAI following the 1979 revolution - are there are reference materials available about these artists in the archive? In particular any women? Nikikana (talk) 23:23, 13 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Is there any material about former SFAI student Laura Poitras? Nikikana (talk) 23:24, 13 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Can we see some material on Anne Bremer, after whom the library is named? Nikikana (talk) 23:27, 13 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Do the collections/archives have any good sources of public domain / out-of-copyright images that we could evaluate for uploading into Commons to help illustrate articles about women artists and the contributions of women to art movements? (Maybe already-digital images, or images we could scan somehow?) I'm also generally curious about any materials related to Edith Heath/Heath Ceramics and The Women's Building, as topics I find personally interesting. Advance notice

[edit]

Your event popped up as a banner announcement at top of the page when I clicked my 'Watchlist' link just now; alas, it's too late to join you now (and it's walking distance for me) as it's half over. I wish you would find another way to publicize these in advance, so I could find out about it in a more timely manner. Wikisalon puts messages on my Talk page for their events, do you have a similar option available? Mathglot (talk) 22:34, 25 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
