New GLAM project[edit]Welcome to the GLAM project page of the Newcomb Archives and Vorhoff Library Special Collections! I will be working to update this page and hope to encourage other volunteers to participate in this project. My hope is that through Wikipedia we will be able to better share the unique resources of the NAVLSC with the world. The NAVLSC wishes to be a good citizen of the Wikipedia GLAM community, so if anyone has suggestions for improvements to this page or our participants' editing practices please share them here. Thank you to User:PKM for providing the code for our page tabs! The design of this page is modeled after the GLAM project page of The George Washington University, which I helped to create with the assistance of User:PKM. Please see my user page for more information about my role in this project and my editing practices, and please do not hesitate to contact me through my talk page. Craub (talk) 19:40, 11 December 2014 (UTC) First things first[edit]How about an article about the Newcomb Archives and Vorhoff Library or Newcomb College Institute as a first step? You can deveop your GLAM project later. First things first! But kindly be aware of WP:COI issues. AshLin (talk) 07:07, 18 December 2014 (UTC) Thanks for commenting[edit]Hi AshLin, thanks for your interest in our GLAM project. We are intentionally prioritizing other articles before those that represent our repository and our administration out of respect for conflict of interest. This project is intended to link Wikipedia users to primary sources on topics that may be of interest to them, rather than promote our own organization. My understanding is that this is standard practice for GLAM projects, and it is how I've participated in GLAM initiatives in the past, but I'm certainly interested in creating those articles at some point. Let me know if I've misunderstood and I'll be glad to get at least stub or start class articles started when I have a chance. If you're interested in our institutional affiliations you can see the articles for Newcomb College, our predecessor (the article mentions NCI), as well as Newcomb-Tulane College and Tulane University. All the best, Craub (talk) 20:23, 18 December 2014 (UTC)
