Newcomb Summer Session is a selective pre-college program in women’s leadership offered by Newcomb College Institute of Tulane University. Students entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year of high school will get a preview of the college classroom while forming a community centered on exploring gender and social change. As part of their class work, students will learn how to edit in Wikipedia by working in teams to create or enhance articles on women leaders of New Orleans.
In honor of Women's History Month and the ArtAndFeminism Wikipedia Project, the Newcomb Archives & Vorhoff Library Special Collections and the Newcomb Art Museum are organizing and hosting New Orleans' second annual Art+Feminism edit-a-thon. The event will focus on improving Wikipedia entries related to notable women artists and art world figures, with an emphasis on Gulf South women artists. Activities will include new editor orientation and training. Coffee and snacks will be provided! See the event page for more details.
