Adding Art for the Ears as a reliable source
[edit]For years I've used the Dutch Art for the Ears webzine as a source for primary-source statements in interviews. I wasn't sure of it's reliability as a third-party source, not because of a lack of writing staff (it has that), but as an English-only speaking American, I can't determine that well if it has a reputation for accuracy. However, it was the outgrowth of a radio show, and looking up that station, this seems reliable: [1]
What do we think? A reliable source? 3family6 (Talk to me | See what I have done) 12:23, 16 October 2024 (UTC)
- Ok, it's also listed at Angelic Warlord, which is a reliable source.--3family6 (Talk to me | See what I have done) 13:27, 30 October 2024 (UTC)
- Given that it has a writing staff and is listed at Angelic Warlord, I will add the source. If anyone is opposed to this, please speak up.--3family6 (Talk to me | See what I have done) 12:47, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
Is Indie Vision Music reliable?
[edit]Indie Vision Music has long been listed as a source, but its reliability is questioned. Please see the RS/N discussion. I'm soliciting input from this project because of subject-familiarity of the editors here.--3family6 (Talk to me | See what I have done) 16:50, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
Andrew Voigt at Blacoforje Magazine
[edit]I'm adding Andrew Voigt's work at Blacforje Magazine as a subject expert in Christian music journalism to the Wikipedia:WikiProject Christian music/Sources list. He's a former staff writer for HM [2] and has written for Christianity Today [3], Relevant [4], CCM Magazine [5], and The Gospel Coalition [6]. Please voice any objections if you disagree with this assessment.--3family6 (Talk to me | See what I have done) 17:19, 18 November 2024 (UTC)
World Radio History now has Jeffrey Lee Brother's 1999 CHR Chart book
[edit]Just a quick note: I was doing some searching and World Radio History now appears to have a full scan of the rare Jeffrey Lee Brothers Book "Christian Hit Radio: 20 Years of Charts, Artist Bios, and More", which covers the CCM Update (run by CCM Magazine) CHR chart through 1998. The companion book that has the entirety of the AC chart (which I own) is a lot easier to find, and the Encyclopedia of Contemporary Christian Music has a similar listing of CHR songs - but this is the first time I've found, frankly, any evidence this book actually exists. At the very least this is useful for artist bios and chart coverage for almost all of the CHR chart's existence! Toa Nidhiki05 20:14, 20 November 2024 (UTC)
- Awesome find!--3family6 (Talk to me | See what I have done) 22:24, 20 November 2024 (UTC)
- It's already been archived by the Wayback Machine, too--3family6 (Talk to me | See what I have done) 22:25, 20 November 2024 (UTC)
- Should we add a link to it to the Sources page here? The Internet Archive has the Encyclopedia now, so having both of those easily findable might help users with research. Toa Nidhiki05 18:15, 21 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Toa Nidhiki05 absolutely! 3family6 (Talk to me | See what I have done) 20:34, 21 November 2024 (UTC)
