WRD110 is an introduction to the rhetoric, writing, and research process. This course will use Wikipedia to explore research and citation practices, and how we adjust our writing for public audiences. The course's final goal will be to edit an existing Wikipedia article to make content clearer and/or add quality sources.

Welcome to your Wikipedia assignment's course timeline. This page guides you through the steps you'll need to complete for your Wikipedia assignment, with links to training modules and your classmates' work spaces. While we have been using Canvas for the past 3 weeks, the Wiki course helps me and you track your progress on Wikipedia.

This week is getting comfortable on Wikipedia. We'll make sure everyone is signed up for this course, and we'll do the Wikipedia Adventure in class.

This week is devoted to completing your proposed edits on Wikipedia. It is recommended that you work in your sandbox before submitting on the official pages. Add citations, revise wording, correct spelling, etc. Make sure you track your time.

This week you will check back on your pages to see if community editors have added to your work or even removed it. Them removing it doesn't affect your grade, but participating in that conversation about your revisions will provide productive content for your reflection essay. This is a community, so even if your additions get taken down, you still tried and that is the important part.
You'll also be putting together your final presentation about your Wiki stub, your edits, and what you've learned from this research process.
