In this class, students will apply concepts from the first iteration of this course last semester and become active participants in our digital world. Students will have an opportunity to evaluate their own experiences and challenges addressing and combating internal and external emotional, economic, prejudicial, and ideological influences within a digital landscape. In order to do this, this course relies heavily on non-traditional sources of course information such as YouTube videos, Buzzfeed articles, Podcasts, Twitter posts, Memes, and various websites. Students will create a complete digital campaign using social media to advertise, promote, and market a student-created business, cause, or interest and contribute to wikipedia articles. Students will create a webpage, manage a social media marketing campaign in order to complete the course synthesis project.
