People throughout the country have started detecting that climate change has already had noticeable effects on the overall environment of the world. The main kinds of effects throughout the world are melting of glaciers, accelerated sea level rising, powerful hurricanes, strong fluctuating heat waves, acidification of the ocean, wildfires, and droughts. After many years of continuous research, scientists have published evidence signifying that the increase in overall net climate change is mainly man-made, it is substantial, and is expected to increase over time. Since scientist began to record temperatures in 1895, the average temperature in the United States increased by a total of 1.3-1.9 degrees Fahrenheit. Due to this sharp increase of temperature since the late 1900s, scientists believe the temperature rise will not be slowing down any time soon. Along with the formerly mentioned effects of climate change, Scientists believe it will bring upon various other calamites to the people of the United States.

Researchers predict that if emissions of fossil fuels in the US do not cease, the increase in global temperatures could increase by 9 degrees by the end of this century. The increase in temperature is why sea levels continue to rise, the United States will have record-breaking warm temperature, fluctuating and severe precipitation patterns, as well as intense hurricanes coming from the Atlantic and Pacific. On the East and Gulf Coasts of the United States, coastal flooding has started to become more frequent which has resulted in multiple city-wide project proposals to build drainage collection systems, raise elevation of roadways and neighborhoods, place sandbags around the waterfronts, and even relocate entire communities. The city of Miami has taken new initiatives to deal with these ongoing changes, which includes planting mangroves on the coasts and raising certain sea walls.
