This is an introduction to linguistics course with an emphasis on understudied languages in Asia (broadly defined). Students learn about linguistic sub-fields like phonetics, phonology, sociolinguistics, etc. and dive deeper into the sub-field with specific examples involving relatively unknown languages. The wikipedia assignment will involve adding references and information to existing but limited articles.
