Wikipedia:WikiProject Weather/Weather of YYYY Task Force
The Weather of YYYY Task Force will cover articles related to the yearly articles about various weather events. These include overview articles, such as Weather of 2003, as well as yearly summaries for various weather types, such as heat waves (eg. 2022 heat waves), tornadoes (eg. Tornadoes of 1964), tropical cyclones (eg. Tropical cyclones in 2002), wildfires (eg. Wildfires in 2017), and more. This task force is part of WikiProject Weather.
Goals
[edit]- Create and improve yearly articles for Weather of YYYY back to 1900, which currently extends to Weather of 2000
- Create and improve yearly articles for other weather types back to 1900, including:
- Heat waves - the oldest is 2018 heat waves, but no articles exist for 2019 heat waves or 2020 heat waves
- Tornadoes - the oldest is Tornadoes of 1946
- Tropical cyclones - the oldest is Tropical cyclones in 1991
- Create and improve yearly articles for the various tropical cyclone basins
- Atlantic hurricanes - the oldest is 1850 Atlantic hurricane season
- Pacific hurricanes - the oldest is 1925 Pacific hurricane season
- Typhoons - the newest season without an article is 1935 Pacific typhoon season
- North Indian Ocean tropical cyclones - the newest season without an article is 1949 North Indian Ocean cyclone season
- South-West Indian Ocean tropical cyclones - the newest season without an article is 1958–59 South-West Indian Ocean cyclone season
- Australian region tropical cyclones - the newest season without an article is 1967-68 Australian region cyclone season
- South Pacific tropical cyclones - the newest season without an article is 1968–69 South Pacific cyclone season
- Wildfires - the oldest is Wildfires in 2016
- Identify and codify standards for articles
- Figure out other goals
