Could a map of the Cheyenne, WY highway network be made? Please include I-25, I-80, I-180, US 30, US 85, US 87 shields. (And also WYO 212, 219, 221, 210, 222, 223, 225 or I can add these later). Thank you very much! Ngs61 (talk) 23:40, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

I added all maps to the appropriate articles, except for those which already had maps (US 20A, 219) or did not yet have a state-detail page (US 11). For some reason, the US 4 map isn't showing up on the page for me. --LJ (talk) 23:21, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
I purged the US 4 map over at Commons, and that appears to have made it show up. – TMF 23:47, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

Can someone fix the text on the SR-111 map? I think it involves converting the text to path... or something like that; same with File:DinosaurDiamond map.svg too - CL23:24, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

OK, Utah 111 is fixed. I don't see that problem with the DinosaurDiamond image though... 25or6to4 (talk) 04:51, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
Dinosaur Diamond's image is okay when it's a thumbnail on the article, but if you click on the map most of the text is on the left side for some reason - perhaps it's just me though. CL04:56, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
The Dinosaur map is very interesting...it shows up fine everywhere but on its page here at Wikipedia. Even the image on its Commons page appears correctly. Since UT 111 is fixed, I think we can archive this for now and revisit it if the Dinosaur map starts messing up elsewhere. – TMF 18:10, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Per the A-class review of this article, a request was made to add shields to the map. In addition, can the northbound ramp to NJ 87 near Brigantine be shown on the map as it is a part of the connector based on this map? Dough4872 (talk) 15:32, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Ok, all finished. Three shields and ramp to NJ 87 added. Hope this helps! 25or6to4 (talk) 08:36, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

Correction of NY 192 map

The map that's currently on NY 192 is incorrect; NY 192's final alignment had it routed on modern NY 86 (see [1]). The current map should be redone to match the actual final alignment of NY 192; alternatively, this could be kept as a "historical" map and a new one could be made for its final alignment. If we elect to go with the latter, I can make the new map. – TMF 19:07, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

New Jersey requests filled

To the archivist: It appears the requests for NJ 34, NJ 183 & 181, NJ 28, NJ 88, NJ 57, NJ 68, NJ 66, and NJ 73 have all been completed, as each of these articles now have maps. --LJ (talk) 20:09, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

I'll archive them very shortly; however, I'm going to rearrange some of the archives to consolidate some of the smaller ones. Archives two through four, which is basically 2007, contain a total of 48 entries while archive five has 40 by itself. Also, the last two archives have 2008 and 2009 blurred together, so I'm going to change them to split the years apart. – TMF 20:41, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

US 62 Business

If it wouldn't be too much trouble, a map for U.S. Route 62 Business (Niagara Falls, New York) is needed. Thanks, Ngs61 (talk) 18:15, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

I'd do this one if I could find a Canada landmass shapefile that didn't look bad at close range. Stratosphere apparently found one once, but since he no longer visits this site, I have no way of knowing where he got it. – TMF 16:31, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
Accept, will be finished sometime tonight. – TMF 01:30, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
Done File:US 62 Bus Niagara Falls NY map.svg. I gave up the search for a Canada shapefile; instead, I traced the Canadian riverbank in Inkscape using the USGS 7.5 Minute topo map of Niagara Falls as a base. Also, since the map is fairly small-scale and detailed, I added a shield to US 62 Business and an overview map that shows where Niagara Falls is in location to the rest of the state. – TMF 04:26, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

On hold. I am in a holding pattern on making this map or any others with text. Am getting some assistance with constant font troubles in my maps. Will keep you informed. Am still available to make maps, just without text of any kind. If anyone else would like to do it, feel free! 25or6to4 (talk) 06:54, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
Is it possible to make the maps without text? Dough4872 (talk) 00:54, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
That's what I'm trying for now. The only text that I feel needs to remain is the scale bar. Should have a couple NJ maps ready soon for comment. 25or6to4 (talk) 19:04, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
Have you tried opening the SVG files in Inkscape and converting the text to path? - Algorerhythms (talk) 02:15, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
Only as a last resort, as editing text after this step is rough. Kinda looks like a problem either with ArcGIS's SVG creater or in the rSVG conversion script. I'll get working on some requests again today. 25or6to4 (talk) 11:03, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
I've run into this problem before. It's not a problem with the GIS software, it's a problem with the Wikimedia SVG renderer. It renders text horribly, so that the only way to get the text to appear correctly is to convert it to path. - Algorerhythms (talk) 13:41, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
I tried doing what the Wikimedia suggests for getting the fonts to work correctly. The result (to save you the time, it didn't work) can be seen at Image:Maryland Route 188 map.svg. I'd still say the most workable route is unfortunately to convert the text to path, until Wikimedia can be bothered to come up with a better font renderer. - Algorerhythms (talk) 05:32, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

NY state route GAs with no maps

As part of my review of all New York GA+ articles, I've found several NY Good Articles that do not have a map - 32 to be exact (not including things like county routes). Now, I can make a good number of these maps myself, but I'm asking for a bit of assistance because of the sheer number of maps. So I don't come off as a hypocrite, here's a list of only five:

Since I know full well how much of a PITA making maps are, I tried to keep them in the same general area so it won't be too difficult to move on from one project to the next. Thanks. – TMF 06:21, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

Update: I've made the maps for the other 27 NY route Good Articles without a map. If someone else could help me out by making the five above, I'd appreciate it. I've made 45 maps over the last two weeks, and I desperately need a break from mapmaking. – TMF 07:36, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
Strange...apparently a map for NY-VT 346 was made and uploaded to Commons almost a year ago. I've struck it from the list. – TMF 12:43, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the maps. However, VT 314 is a loop off US 2 and not a spur (see [2]), contrary to what the junction list in that article would lead you to believe. (I know it's lousy, and I intend on redoing the article in some form in the near future.) – TMF 06:13, 15 August 2009 (UTC)
That's weird. Google maps didn't show the southern portion of that loop as part of VT 314 when I checked last night... I'll fix the map sometime today. - Algorerhythms (talk) 15:57, 15 August 2009 (UTC)

I'm looking for another round of map requests; Florida State Road 50, Florida State Road 50A, Florida State Road 52, and Florida State Road 54. The second one may be more difficult because it's a short road in the center of Hernando County, Florida, which may not be recognizable outside of the Tampa Bay Area. ----DanTD (talk) 01:29, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

NOTE: Hold off on Florida State Road 54 for a while. ----DanTD (talk) 00:23, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
Accepted 50 and 50A.—JA10 TalkContribs 01:56, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
Apparently the maps are completed. --Rschen7754 (T C) 07:17, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

U.S. Route 17 in South Carolina

Somebody added a redlink for the article U.S. Route 17 in South Carolina, which I created. I haven't found out who put the redlink in yet, but I'd like to see the map added in it's place, if nobody minds. ----DanTD (talk) 23:34, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
