Description
[edit]As Swift's fame growers bigger and bigger, so does the amount of Wikipedia articles she has. A lot of her articles need work, and creating a Wikiproject for her would come in great use to those who wish to collaborate and expand her articles and get them to GA and FAC. I know several people who work on some of her articles, but I'd be so much easier just to have one place to discuss the articles, make plans, and to share links and ideas. ℥nding·start 22:52, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

- Support Not a huge Taylor fan, but she has had great success and released so many wonderful songs and albums. She absolutely deserves her on WikiProject. Yeah, I'd probably join. :P --Cprice1000talk2me 23:28, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Support I would join the project. — MyDecember (talk) 10:40, 3 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Support I would be interested.--BabbaQ (talk) 15:22, 27 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- If people want an outlet to work collaboratively then fine. No wikipedia editor has the right to forbid other editors working together in an organised and collaborative manner, which is what an oppose comment in effect does. Also, making editors join a lager project they may have limited interest in is of no use if the end result is non-participation in a larger wikiproject. - Support I think it's a great idea. It help get the pages better under control. JamesAlan1986 (talk-Contributes) 05:48, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Discussion
[edit]- Perhaps this would work better as a task force under the Musicians WikiProject or a similar group? Kirill [talk] [prof] 04:14, 3 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- No. There's too much worked needed to just be a part of something else. ℥nding·start 19:19, 3 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- I agree with Kirill here, it seems more natural to make a task force of WikiProject Musicians. It appears that WikiProject doesn't have their own banner, but if one were to be created, then the Taylor Swift task force could have its own parameter in the banner. I don't think 30 articles is enough to warrant a separate project (even though they may be a very strong current interest in the subject!). Mlm42 (talk) 00:05, 26 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- The important question to ask is how many articles would fall under the scope of this proposed project? If you're at less than 100 a devoted project isn't needed and would function well as a task force of a larger project. Brad (talk) 17:47, 8 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- I agree that a task force would be more suitable. There are about 30 Taylor Swift-related articles at most. -- ipodnano05 * leave@message 00:43, 10 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Neutral
[edit]- Kinda neutral to this. Swizzle's articles are already so well-crafted that she hardly needs any wikiproject to put her in place. This is all in thanks to a certain someone called Ipodnano05, who has disappeared god knows why. I dont oppose this being made in the future, but for now, it seems excessive. And before anyone yaps at me for being partial, the Bey-bey and Moomoo wikiprojects were a damn necessity seeing the crappy state of their articles. — Legolas (talk2me) 16:08, 5 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Yes, I also agree with you Legolas. I'm kinda neutral too. Btw, Ipodnano is still active. Novice7 | Talk 16:19, 5 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Thank you so much :) ... And I'm still active. I just don't have as much time as I used to. But I'm still active. -- ipodnano05 * leave@message 00:46, 10 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose
[edit]- The Taylor articles really don't require a project. Ipodnano05 is the Taylor king. About 90% of her articles have already been established as GA's by him, and the Swift articles are some of the best music projects on here. Most of her stuff is done, and doesn't need any organization or what not, so why is there a need for one? He has done already most of her stuff, and echoing what Legolas said, there really isn't no need for any organization of her stuff. I know this may be coming off the heels of the recent established Mariah and Beyonce projects, but honestly if T-Swizzle gets one, it'll seem as if numerous other artists should deserve one also, and that is not so. Those articles definitely needed the help to support their respective work, Swift doesn't. Speaking of Nano, I do see him active sometimes, and he was working on some Swift stuff, I expect he planned one getting some of the "Speak Now" stuff done before they were GANed. Sorry guys. Candyo32 - Happy New Year :) 03:18, 6 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- I also oppose due to the fact that there are so few Taylor Swift articles. She has 3 studio albums, 2 EPs and I don't think that's enough to warrant an entire WikiProject. A task force would suffice since Taylor is relatively-new. As mentioned, Mariah Carey has been active for more than 20 years. Taylor Swift has been around for 6 years. In the future, it could be created. Oh and thank you for your compliments :) -- ipodnano05 * leave@message 00:54, 10 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose per above. --Kleinzach 03:00, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
