Description
[edit]I am proposing a WikiProject for all matter relating to Miley Cyrus. There are many articles for topics of her music and acting career so having an organized system with proper editors and collaborators would be great. ipodnano05 * leave@message 19:58, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Support
[edit]Please specify whether or not you would join the project.

- I support this project -- Lady Rose (talk • contrib) 22:27, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- I've already worked on several related articles, so I might as well join a project. Liquidluck✽talk 23:28, 16 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- I support this project and would become a member of it. Crystal Clear x3 [talk] 04:13, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- I support the project and would join. My contributions in the area mostly involve keeping an eye on various articles via my watchlist, but I'm fairly active at both Miley Cyrus and The Climb (song). The area is definitely in need of a project such as this. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 10:57, 30 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- so willing to be apart of this project --Gerty 22:38, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
Oppose
[edit]- I
stronglyoppose this. A task force of WP:MUSICIANS will suffice. It can always be upgraded if there is enough participation. Matthewedwards : Chat 01:08, 18 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]- That seems a reasonable idea. The end result is more-or-less the same, but why not just make that suggestion instead of strongly opposing this one? HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 01:28, 18 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- OK, I'll strike that. To clarify, a Wikiproject can often end up making its own rules, style guidelines, etc etc, which makes the end result of the articles that fall under its banner to look inconsistent with other articles related to musicians, and really they should all be consistent. Sometimes it doesn't happen, such as with the articles under the Wikiprojects for Madonna, Kylie, Michael and Janet Jackson, to name a few of the pop artist ones. My feeling, though, is that because Miley is popular among the tweens and teens, and that they are likely to be the ones editing most of the articles related to her, they probably need guidance from a "higher-up" Project. Obviously not all editors are a problem, as evidenced by those who have written related GAs and keep other pages under control, and no offense is intended towards them. Matthewedwards : Chat 01:59, 18 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- I don't think the ages of Cyrus' fanbase directly have anything to do with opening up a WikiProject. I believe that Liquidluck and I are capable of setting up guidelines that are consistent with other music related articles. In fact, the articles that have been sent for GA are consistent and that's the style that will be supported by the WikiProject. -- ipodnano05 * leave@message 17:07, 18 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- I actually think Matthewedwards makes a reasonable point about the relative age of many edits, but I think it's unfair to direct it at editors such as Ipodnano05 and Liquidluck, both of whom edit with the utmost maturity (I don't know how old either is and I feel it's irrelevant this or any other discussion). However, I think a task force might be a preferable option, mainly because an independent project with 5 members is not really sustainable. If the task force becomes big enough in the future, it can be spun out into an independent project. We can consider this an opportunity to prove the worth of such a project, attract more members and a reasonable compromise. I'm happy to write and maintain the relevant project pages (though if you want fancy graphics, you'll have to find someone cleverer!).
