Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals/Blackstone Valley

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Description

[edit]

The Blackstone Valley is one of the most historical regions in the United States, and is often cited as the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution in the US.

I propose that this should become a WikiProject because the region has an important piece of US history, and the current pages on the topic are basic and do not include much information on the area. Livinlife133 (talk) 05:16, 28 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  1. Original proposer. I would contribute greatly if this is approved. Livinlife133 (talk) 05:16, 28 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose

[edit]
  1. The geographic scope is too small to warrant a full project. Imzadi 1979  05:15, 31 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion

[edit]
  • Comment—just to note, the proposer here has already created the project and started assessing articles. In several cases, articles were mis-assessed; some were tagged as A-Class outside of the requirements, and many others were not tagged consistently with the ratings from other projects. The proposer also created a misnamed stub-sorting template out of process for the creation and usage of such templates. I sense a great deal of enthusiasm for editing and would counsel the proposer to direct that into editing articles first and creating projects for much later, if the proposed subject area has attracted some interest from others. • Proposal rescinded. After the actions of the last few days, it's obvious that this project will not reach full potential as a WikiProject. I have decided to rescind the proposal, and use the ideas of the project internally (within myself and my editing) to fulfill the project's goals.
