[edit]
I am requesting help for my article draft as I do not know how to save. Every time I shut down my laptop with the draft tab in it, the progress is lost. Please tell me if there is a save feature as I cannot write more than I already have one my article, because I obviously cannot keep my laptop on for weeks at a time. This issue did not occur before, but when I clicked the publish button on my draft (I am not putting it for review yet though, it is just in the public drafting area) I got the problem and I cannot save it. I am logged in my Wikipedia account already, but I do not know how my progress is lost. Please correct my problem.MAT192939 (talk) 11:34, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
MAT192939 (talk) 11:34, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
- MAT192939 "Publish Changes" should be interpreted as "save changes", it does not mean "publish this to the encyclopedia". It used to say save, but was changed to emphasize that all edits are public.
- I would note that what you are doing seems to 1) duplicate existing articles and 2) seems to be your opinion of what an "advanced civilization" is, as if you are writing an essay or report and not an encyclopedia article. 331dot (talk) 11:50, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
- @MAT192939 Thers are references, but also a lot of original research and synthesis. 331dot is right. David10244 (talk) 12:48, 15 January 2023 (UTC)

Can you delete the page and let some else do it for me
- Hi @GeographyFan2009:, if you want the draft to be deleted, place {{Db-g7}} at the top of the page. S0091 (talk) 00:05, 14 January 2023 (UTC)
14:14:35, 13 January 2023 review of draft by JoMcD
[edit]
Hello, I'm trying to create this page for Clan IrvinG, but it has been declined due to lack of references. I have added more, but no joy. Clan Irving is a genuine Clan as agreed in the Court of the Lord Lyons - this is the official governing body of the Scottish Clans. I don't see how you need more proof than this.
In fact Clan IrvinE which has a page is not a real clan. The history detailed on this page belongs to Clan IrvinG and was 'hijacked' in the present day by a gentleman who purchased the former seat of the Clan at Bonshaw and tried to claim the Chiefdom as his own.
The case was taken to the Court of the Lord Lyon who after investigation proclaimed Clan Irving the true Clan. Hence the Wikipedia Clan IrvinE is currently factually incorrect. This is all detailed here:
https://www.courtofthelordlyon.scot/index_htm_files/irvingofbonshawinterlocutor.pdf
The Clan IrvinG page was created to begin to set this straight.
Please can you advise?
Many Thanks,
Jo McDowell

- Hi @JoMcD, primary sources cannot be used to establish notability so court documents are not useful nor are blogs like clanirving.com and much of the content is unsourced. What is needed are quality secondary sources that have written in-depth about the clan. S0091 (talk) 00:01, 14 January 2023 (UTC)

- Hi IP, you do not ask a question but the draft is rejected, meaning it will no longer be considered None of the source provided are useful for notability. S0091 (talk) 23:55, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
21:46:37, 13 January 2023 review of submission by Mhijazi
[edit]I am not sure which information in the article reads as advertising as I tried as much as possible to only state facts backed-up by sources. If you can help me in pointing out which statements I should edit, I would gladly do so.
Mhijazi (talk) 21:46, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
- Just a quick look and "United Planet offers global experiential learning programs to develop global citizen leaders" is clearly just advertising. Theroadislong (talk) 22:05, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
- @Mhijazi Phrases like "which creatively used technology to forge relationships across the community divides through forming bi-communal groups around areas of common interest" sound like they were lifted from ad-copy, or from the organization's own materials. This doesn't sound like an encyclopedia article. I don't quite understand what that particular phrase is trying to tell me - or I get the feeling that it could be said in one-fourth of the number of words. The article is full of that kind of text. [edit]I would like to know why this page was rejected and how I could best it.Cgimbel2 (talk) 22:26, 13 January 2023 (UTC) Cgimbel2 (talk) 22:26, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
- Cgimbel2 I assume this is about the draft I've placed a link to here. Your draft was declined, not rejected. "Rejected" has a specific meaning here, that resubmission would not be possible. Declined means it may be resubmitted with changes.
- Your draft was declined because, as the decline message states, it doesn't seem to have independent reliable sources with significant coverage summarized in it. You did a good job telling about the museum and what it does- but that's not what we are looking for. We are looking for sources independent of the museum that discuss what they see as important/significant/influential about it(not what the museum sees as important about itself). Press releases, interviews, brief mentions, announcements of routine activities and the like do not establish notability. Please read Your First Article.
- If you are associated with this museum, please read conflict of interest and paid editing for information on required formal disclosures. 331dot (talk) 22:39, 13 January 2023 (UTC)

Erkenntnis123 (talk) 22:50, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
- @Erkenntnis123 what is you affiliation with Documentation Centre Political Islam and User:Bingrau, whose only edit is to post a query on the draft's talk page asking why the draft was rejected? S0091 (talk) 23:39, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
- I asked him to help me - is that forbidden? Erkenntnis123 (talk) 00:49, 14 January 2023 (UTC)
- I would really need help. This is about a state institution with a global role model effect for other countries in the fight against dangerous islamism. Erkenntnis123 (talk) 00:54, 14 January 2023 (UTC)
23:01:11, 13 January 2023 review of submission by Reachforthestarz
[edit]So I am new to editing Wikipedia and was working in my Sandbox and an editor that goes by the name Dan arndt submitted my sandbox as an article, then denied it. I did not submit this as I was working on a section to add later to an article. Is this normal? I am just super confused as to why someone would come in and do that, I thought that a Sanbox was a place to form your ideas into writing... Any advice will be great! Reachforthestarz (talk) 23:01, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
- @Reachforthestarz if you look at the history of the draft you will see in fact you did submit your sandbox for review on the 9th. Dan simply moved it into the preferred location for draft submittals and applied the appropriate decline. McMatter (talk)/(contrib) 00:09, 14 January 2023 (UTC)
- @Reachforthestarz maybe you meant to "publish changes", meaning save your edits, but accidentally clicked the "submit" button. It happens and no worries. You can continue to work on the draft and click the "resubmit" button when ready. S0091 (talk) 00:13, 14 January 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks @S0091Yeah, I was just working on a part of an article for Purple Carrot so I read that you can work on drafts there. Thanks for the help! Reachforthestarz (talk) 14:21, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
- Oh interesting! I was trying to find where I might have slipped up on that. Thanks! Reachforthestarz (talk) 14:19, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
