[edit]

The article I submitted about the company Immfly was rejected as it did not sound impartial enough to meet with Wikipedia's guidelines, however, I am not really sure what I can change in order to make my entry more neutral, are there any tips that you have to do this?

Secondly, I added links to backup the information (mainly from websites) but there may be an issue with there being enough of a range within the links, what can I do to make sure the links I use provide this range whilst also giving enough relevant/accurate information?

I was told "This submission appears to read more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia".....and Comment: This reads like an advertisement for Cessna. Please rewrite and change tone. Robert McClenon (talk) 03:59, 4 January 2016 (UTC)

I am more than happy to remove all references to Cessna as this does not affect the information at all - but will that make it acceptable to Wikipedia?

My article is a summary and reference to many formal Government documents (SIDs) on the Government driven legislative process attempting to stop very old aircraft from falling out of the sky due to age related air-frame failures. There is no external link to Cessna - only what Wikipedia already has published. I find the editor's response strange as what I included here was taken from very serious Government documents (US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority) - not product advertisements.

These deal with the very important and serious subject of the safety of peoples lives in old aircraft. Not sure how this can be read as an advertisement. Maybe someone can help me out there as I read the Wikipedia guidance section on "Advertisements masquerading as articles" and clearly my article is not an advertisement. I can only assume that we are not allowed to mention brand names - even if they are part of the story and are already widely published in Wikipedia? If this is the case I am confused.

If you check the specific Cessna aircraft mentioned (Cessna 402C) ou will note it was only manufactured during the period of 1966-1985, so no possible advertising advantage to Cessna there. If anything, this article could be read as quite negative to Cessna, but it actually demonstrates the FAA and a aircraft manufacturer working together to solve a major problem that could have never been foreseen by either party, and on a subject that is probably unique to aviation.

FTR the manufacturer has no choices under the legislation - they must comply - read on...

My interest in including the summary and links is that Wikipedia has no reference to this extremely important topic known as SIDs (Supplemental Inspection Documents). These are legislated engineering directives given by Government Aviation Administrations to force operators of older aircraft to perform extra inspections on their aircraft for safety reasons - not commercial reasons. They are not negotiable and not optional.

I thought I was doing a favor to those who use Wikipedia as a reference by providing links to the relevant information in the Wiki way. The difficulty in this case is that no-one but the Government Agencies referenced can speak with authority on this subject.

FYI: The brand Cessna is mentioned for 2 reasons - they are bound under legislation to assist the governing body (FAA) in helping to develop the SIDs, and because they happen to be the first manufacturer in the process. In time there will be many others following and I will be happy to update the article as more information comes to hand. If this is advertising for Cessna I can't see how it is positive (or negative if one takes the time to read the linked documents).

@Sunrise2016: This draft is not suitable for the English Language Wikipedia because it is written in French. It will simply be deleted as not being in English. If you have an English language version of this then that may be submitted here. Fiddle Faddle 18:12, 4 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I have digital copies of the awards received by Calvin B. Jones (article submitted) from his personal papers which were sent to me by request from his son. There are no online sources for these awards since the internet did not exist at that time. Is there a way I can upload these documents to support his claim to have received the awards?Artist4Equality (talk) 18:04, 4 January 2016 (UTC)Artiist4Equality[reply]

@Artist4Equality: Please do not submit digital copies. There are issues with copyright and privacy. Instead please use citations to the non online versions. References do not need to be online. Please read WP:REFB and WP:CITE. Fiddle Faddle 18:10, 4 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
