[edit]

The article was rejected on the basis that the sources weren't reliable. But, I've included articles from many national newspapers and entertainment portals. Please let me know on what is needed to get this article up and running. Thanks.

[edit]

Hi there!!!! Im New to the Wikipedia world of creating articles, I am requesting assistance to improve my article of the "Draft:Kenneth Earl Medrano" so that under the next article reviewing it will be approved and visible to Wikipedia when searched on the search engine. It's been a while now that the article was pending & waiting for re-review. I've already rechecked, improved & fixed all of the suggestions & comments you've sended to me a while ago to my talk page, since it was declined & leave some notes on my draft by the reviewer/s during my first submission. Being a draft, I know it is not perfect however, I am finding difficulty in understanding why it was not approved in the first place. It was written in a neutral tone and informative. Please help me improve the draft. Your help and assistance is highly & greatly appreciated. As soon as possible. I am looking forward to assist me & for your response.
Thanks.

[edit]

I am legitimately at a loss. I have tried revising, and even completely redoing this page from scratch. It keeps getting declined (4th? time now), with the reason being a lack of citations, and I do not understand why. I have come across other game pages that have 1 reference to their game's purchase page with one paragraph about the game, and they are on Wikipedia. Here I am with several notable websites cited, and it is getting declined. Can you explain to me why this is the case, or better yet - for lack of better words, tell me how this is even "fair". I am getting extremely frustrated with the reviewers, because one time it was actually approved, then someone came along and removed it. I been at this for nearly 2 months.

Jenilya (talk) 10:59, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Jenilya: Looks like the game doesn't meet WP:NVG (which is something I'm unfamiliar with). From what I gather it needs significant media coverage or an award of some sort. To meet WP:GNG significant media coverage is needed, and it needs have a significant claim to notability (which is the general standard of most articles). --  Kethrus |talk to me  16:19, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Jenilya:, so far as fairness goes, if you catch other game articles that only have one citation, and that's to their maker/seller, please just mark them for deletion per WP:Criteria for speedy deletion and an administrator will delete them for you. There are plenty of substandard articles that sneak onto Wikipedia, but that's no reason for us to relax our standards to "level the playing field", instead we ask that people help us find and eliminate substandard articles so that we can hold everyone to the same high standard. MatthewVanitas (talk) 23:21, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Well to be completely fair, I am not going to mark a fellow game article for deletion. It isn't my job, and the AfD guys love axing articles, so I will not help them do that. The article I did here has several citations to notable websites, however if the reviewer checking the article has never heard of the website they don't consider it notable. Which seems to be the problem I am having. The last reviewer told me to put even more third party citations, I really don't know what that is suppose to mean. Jenilya (talk) 05:29, 7 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Jenilya: I am afraid we only care about the quality of the encyclopaedia, not about what is 'fair'. No-one "loves axing articles." What we love is having good quality articles and removing the rubbish. Most people are here to build an encyclopaedia. Some are here to promote their favourite things. We applaud the former and deprecate the latter. I hope you are here to build an encyclopaedia. That means not leaving trash lying around when you see it. Don;t worry, they will either be improved or will vanish in the end. Meanwhile, do not try to find a precedent in other articles for any that you are working on. We don;t ever consider precedents on Wikipedia.
If the game of which you write is notable and you can prove it, then it gets an article. If not, then not. I'm sorry you have the issue of premature acceptance. At least it has been moved back to Draft: space for you to work on. Time to get on and either do the work or accept it will not make the cut. Fiddle Faddle 10:28, 7 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Timtrent: No need for a condescending tone. I been working on it for 2 months, not giving up now. I still stand by what I said regardless. I am not here to build the encyclopedia, so I am not marking off any people's pages for deletion; people do love cutting articles because it makes them known for "clean-up", I mean jeez they get profile badges for it. Regardless, Kethrus is the only person that actually answered and gave me some advice. I don't need help anymore, people can stop replying since none of it is relevant to my question. What is that you need for verifictaion?

I provided two external website links for the same out of which one is very reputed external link i.e. IMDB link which is also never approved without verification of all the details.

Still I am submitting following links:

Buntymonani (talk) 15:13, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Buntymonani: Is this a living person? For a living person we have a high standard of referencing. Every substantive fact you assert, especially one that is susceptible to potential challenge, requires a citation with a reference that is about them, and is independent of them, and is in WP:RS, and is significant coverage. Please also see WP:PRIMARY which details the limited permitted usage of primary sources and WP:SELFPUB which has clear limitations on self published sources.
IMDB and Youtube do not make the cut, Wikipedia may not be used as a reference. See WP:CIRCULAR. External music videos are very pleasant but do not make the cut. Fiddle Faddle 16:13, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I am hoping that someone can review my draft. It was declined for advertising reasons, and I edited the parts that I think may have come off as advertise-ish, even though I did not intend to promote it in any way. I've taken a lot of cue's from comparable Wikipedia articles and others as suggested. It reads 100% neutral to me, but I'd appreciate an external opinion and perhaps examples of areas that need work, if any. Thank you!

We only review that which is submitted, Please feel free to resubmit and join the others awaiting consideration. Fiddle Faddle 17:03, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The two sources used in this article were also used in the approved article written about Peninsula Mile Houses. Please advise on what more we can do to get this published.

Thank you so much!
