[edit]12:44:02, 24 May 2015 review of submission by CarrieMarie21
[edit]
This is my first article. I appreciate any feedback. It is my understanding that I can add a company logo that is trademarked as long as I use the proper tag? Is that correct? Lastly, I have a conflict of interest as I am the wife of the company's CTO. Should I remark that somewhere so the person who reviews it will know? Thanks in advance!! I appreciate it. 12:44, 24 May 2015 (UTC) CarrieMarie21 (talk) 12:44, 24 May 2015 (UTC)
- @CarrieMarie21: Hello, thanks for inquiring at the Help Desk! Consensus on Wikipedia is that it is acceptable to use a company logo for encyclopedic purposes. However, you should read carefully the rules at WP:LOGO before doing so. The tag you would need to include is mentioned on that page. As for the conflict of interest, if you look on the talk page for your draft, you will see that Timtrent has kindly added a {{connected contributor}} template so that future reviewers and readers will be aware of your connection to the company. I will mention also that conflict-of-interest editing is discouraged on Wikipedia. /wia /talk 02:08, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
- Just to add, copyrighted logos can only be used in articles. Not in User sandboxes or Draft space. So, you should wait until your sandbox is accepted and becomes an article, before uploading the logo. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 14:07, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
