05:03:29, 7 August 2015 review of submission by SeoulSurvivor7815

[edit]

My article was not reviewed because of another article with the same name. May I simply edit the 1st article and put in my content? How much am I allowed to change? Thank you for advising me. :) SeoulSurvivor7815 (talk) 05:03, 7 August 2015 (UTC) SeoulSurvivor7815 (talk) 05:03, 7 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi SeoulSurvivor7815 - Yes, please work on the existing draft, you may merge as much of your draft into it as you wish and make any changes that you believe are necessary to improve it. If someone else disagrees with your edits you should discuss them on the Talk page of the draft. I have added a template at the top of the page so that you can submit it easily when you you believe it is ready. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 09:31, 7 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, Dodger67. Thank you for clarifying how to proceed and for adding the template. I'll get right to work! SeoulSurvivor7815 (talk) 00:28, 10 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

06:27:46, 7 August 2015 review of submission by Pressreleasesr

[edit]

The reviewer of the article said that "The content of this submission includes material that does not meet Wikipedia's minimum standard for inline citations. Please cite your sources using footnotes. For instructions on how to do this, please see Referencing for beginners. Thank you." I'm not quite sure what to edit as I don't fully understand the reason the article was rejected. I looked up the references but I am still having a hard time understanding what exactly needs to be edited as I'm under the impression that I have cited my sources using footnotes. Do I need to delete some of the references or did I state something incorrectly in the article itself? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you so much in advance.

@Pressreleasesr: The draft shows that you understand the technique for citing a source. Biographies of living persons require a high degree of inline citations, and I believe the reviewer is referring to the fact that the subject's education, modeling career, and the first half of the chef and TV personality section cite no sources.
Note that media appearances may be good PR, but they are not the route to an encyclopedia article. Nor does it matter who the subject has cooked for. Notability doesn't rub off on him simply because of association with celebrities or notable organizations. What is needed are independent sources that directly discuss him and his work, such as reviews in reliable sources of his TV performances or cookbook (if and when published). Wikipedia has two good (though far from perfect) biographies of TV chefs: Nigella Lawson and Marcus Wareing. You may find it revealing to contrast the draft with those articles. Compare sources such as: [1], [2], and [3] to those cited in the draft. Worldbruce (talk) 01:41, 9 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

My article on this Indian company has been rejected thrice now. The rejection comment says that the article looks like an advertisement. Also the comment says that the references has to be from independent sources. Well, I have kept just facts in the article, things which has been reported in various well known Indian newspapers and publications. Can you please help me and point out to me if any lines or sections still looks like advertisements? Or is the problem the kind of language I used? Also all the references are from independent, well known Indian newspapers and publications, so can you tell me why the reviewer raised the comment that the references should be from independent sources? Krishanuthe13th (talk) 12:54, 7 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The text of the Draft does not currently look excessively promotional to me.
Some of your references are strangely formatted. Was there really someone whose first name is "IIFL" and whose last name is "App" who writes for India Info Online? And another person whose first name is "TOI" and whose last name is "Adda App" who writes for the Times of India?
Some of your references seem to be recycled press releases, for example the 29 April 2015 piece published by the Times of India. Others look better.
The Draft is currently awaiting another review. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 14:07, 10 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
