[edit]Review of Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/South East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership
[edit]Hello,
I was hoping you could help me. I have re-edited this article and I am hoping it will satisfy. I have verified with a few more citations and taken out any words that sound biased. I have also based it on this other Wikipedia article which has been published. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greater_Birmingham_%26_Solihull_Local_Enterprise_Partnership Many thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SemlepPR (talk • contribs) 05:08, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
Hi,
Not having submitted an article before I am unsure of procedure (even though I have read lots of tutorials, tips etc. Can you tell me how long it takes for a listing to appear? I can see the article but it doesn't come up after any searches. Sorry to be a pain. Mark Eric Hamilton (talk) 05:37, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
Hello,
I have recently submitted the article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Paolo_Giubellino that I wrote based on a previous submission for Peter Jenni (former spokesperson of the ATLAS experiment). However, the submission was rejected and the reason seems to be the way I am citing sources. I went through the article again but I am not sure that I understand what exactly the problem is. I am wondering if you could give me an example and of course I would be happy to work again on the article before resubmitting it.
Thank you for your time and I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Best wishes, Pcharito — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pcharito (talk • contribs) 09:44, 19 February 2014
- There are no references in most of the article, only the Lead and two of the items in the Awards sections have citations. Please add references to the rest of the article. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 14:31, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
- Note This article was created by another editor on 16 February. See Paolo Giubellino. However, the person who created the article has obviously done so by pasting in User:Pcharito's draft in its entirety. Duplication Dectector. The two histories will have to be merged. Voceditenore (talk) 15:43, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
- Follow-up I have asked for history merge at Wikipedia:Cut-and-paste-move repair holding pen. Please do not edit the AfC draft again, as this will make it very difficult or impossible to merge the two histories. I'll let you know when the history merge has been done. Voceditenore (talk) 16:03, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
- Resolved History merge completed. Pcharito, you can continue to work on the article at Paolo Giubellino. Best wishes, Voceditenore (talk) 06:24, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
Why was my article regarding Augustus Jenkins Farmer declined? Thank you Sharon Thomson, Owner Accounting Solutions — Preceding unsigned comment added by Accountingsolutions (talk • contribs) 13:42, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
- You overwrote the original decline reason from MatthewVanitas (talk · contribs), which you can see here. As stated, an article about a living person must be very well sourced to high quality sources using inline citations. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 13:49, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
I was asked to provide more references to prove the notability of the article, I have added the PhD research done by Dr Haji which was published. But I already provided 22 references from wide range of online news sites, local newspapers and magazines. I don’t understand how come this is not enough. I couldn’t upload a photo linked to this article because the article is still under review. I found some wiki articles with hardly any references but they are in the production site. Please help me. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samer_Majali http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jassim_Mohammed_Haji

- About the articles Samer Majali and Jassim Mohammed Haji: Those were not created through the articles for creation process. On the English Wikipedia, anyone can create a new article with an account that is at least four days old and has made at least ten edits. AfC is much more rigorous than simply starting a new article from scratch (and you can see that at the top of those articles there are notices pointing out problems with sources).
- If you have questions about why your article was declined, you can contact the user who declined your article by clicking the "talk" link in the box at the top.
- By the way, this site is called Wikipedia, not wiki. A wiki is any website using wiki software; there are thousands of them. Anon126 (talk - contribs) 20:12, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
Hi, I submitted an article for creation for a magazine at which I am the editor and I was wondering why it was rejected? Swseditor (talk) 21:17, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
- The primary reasons are given in the notice at the top of the page. In short, you have not shown how the magazine is notable. Notability generally means that independent, reliable sources of information (news, other magazines, television, film, reputable websites, etc.) have discussed it. As the notice suggests, you should add citations to such sources. Anon126 (talk - contribs) 22:41, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
